After you've covered all the great places in Brasil, there's loads more to explore in the surrounding area. Pick up the keys to a rental car, throw your luggage in the trunk and get going. We've come up with some drives we know you'll enjoy:

• You'll find Acqua Park diRoma and lots more intriguing attractions in Caldas Novas. From Brasil, it's 60 miles away.
• Located 35 miles away, Uberlandia is also a favorite with wanderers. Allow time to check out Uberlândia Shopping while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love this vibrant city.
• Spend time in nature and inhale the fresh air at Laranjais Thermal Springs. It's about 150 miles from Brasil.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Brazil, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. You should also note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of ID as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. A few other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be 25 or over in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before driving away. With rental cars, you usually can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on off-road areas with a rental car.
