Car Rental Historic Center

There's so much to do in Historic Center, but venture farther afield and you'll find even more magic. Grab a set of wheels and you can cruise around the surrounding region at your leisure. Add these awesome destinations to your to-do list:

• Cabo Frio is around 80 miles from Historic Center. Well-known tourist spots like Japanese Island deserve to be at the top of your list while you're in town.
• Roughly 80 miles away, Angra dos Reis is also a hit with wanderers. Allow time to get to Lopes Mendes Beach while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love coming to this city.
• Get out into nature and appreciate the serenity at Itamambuca Beach. You'll find it roughly 130 miles from Historic Center.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Brazil, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be allowed to rent a car. It's also important to note that if an IDP is required, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some other requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in most places to rent a car. If you're younger than that, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the fine print before driving away. You typically can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or go off-roading with your rental car.
