When you've visited all of the terrific places in Chinatown, there's heaps more to explore in the surrounding region. Grab the keys to a rental car, toss your bags in the trunk and get going. We've pulled together some drives we think you'll enjoy:

• Head off to Montreal for a fantastic sightseeing adventure. Approximately 100 miles from Chinatown, it has many inspiring attractions like Notre Dame Basilica.
• Next stop? Kingston, which is around 90 miles away. Kingston Waterfront is one local highlight you really shouldn't miss.
• Get out into the outdoors and breathe in some fresh air at Sandbanks Provincial Park. You'll find it around 130 miles from Chinatown.

If you don't hold a driver's license issued in Canada, then you may need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. You should also note that if an IDP is required, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your current driver's license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. Some other requirements to rent a car internationally are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be at least 25 in most places to rent a car. If you're younger, it might still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of vehicles available to rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the rules and regulations before driving away. Usually, you can't cross country borders, drive onto ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with your rental car.
