Car Rental The Gap

When you've covered all the interesting places in The Gap, there's loads more to see in the surrounding area. Collect the keys to a rental car, toss your luggage in the trunk and hit the road. These are some drives we know you'll love:

• Head to Gold Coast for an excellent sightseeing adventure. Approximately 50 miles from The Gap, it's home to loads of inspiring attractions, including Warner Bros. Movie World.
• Located 55 miles away, Sunshine Coast is also a hit with wanderers. Set aside time to check out Hastings Street while you're here. It's one of the reasons people love this city.
• Venture into nature and inhale the fresh air at Bargara Beach. You'll find it roughly 180 miles from The Gap.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Australia, then you might need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence in order to rent a car. You should also note that if you do need an IDP, it has no validity on its own. You'll need to show your current license your passport and other forms of documentation as well. Lastly, it's important that the credit card used to book the rental matches the name on your driver's license and passport. Some added requirements for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You'll need to be at least 25 in most countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to the types of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Be sure to read the fine print before driving away. Usually, you can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or off road with a rental vehicle.
