Car Rental Maolin

When you've covered all the well-known sights in Maolin, there's a lot more to see in the region. Pick up the keys to a rental car, stow your bags in the trunk and get out on the open road. We've come up with some road trips we know you'll enjoy:

• You'll discover Lotus Pond and countless other intriguing sights in Kaohsiung. From Maolin, it's around 35 miles away.
• Why not see the wonders of Taichung too? Notable sights in this colorful city include Taichung Park. Taichung is around 90 miles from Maolin.
• Taipei 101 is about 150 miles from Maolin and is one of the region's most beautiful nature spots. Go for a wander around and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Taiwan, then you'll likely need to apply for an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country to be able to rent a car. It's also important to note that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll have to show your driver's license from your home country your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card you used to book the rental matches the name on your license and passport. A few other things to note for international car rentals are:

• Age restrictions: You need to be 25 or over in many countries to rent a car. If you're younger, it may still be possible to rent a car but you'll have to pay a Young Driver's Surcharge. Additional restrictions may also apply to what kinds of cars you can rent.
• Driving limitations: Make sure you read the rules and regulations before getting behind the wheel. You typically can't cross country borders, drive on ferries or on certain types of rugged terrain with your rental car.
