There's heaps to do in Miramar, but head farther afield and you'll find more sightseeing magic. Pick up a set of wheels and you can roam around the surrounding area at your leisure. Add these awesome places to your travel plan:

• You'll discover Bom Jesus do Monte and many other interesting attractions in Braga. From Miramar, it's roughly 35 miles away.
• Your next stop? Coimbra, which is around 60 miles away. Portugal dos Pequenitos is one local highlight you shouldn't miss.
• Get into nature and breathe in some fresh air at Guincho Beach. You'll find it roughly 170 miles from Miramar.

If you don't have a driver's license issued in Portugal, then you might need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your place of residence to be able to rent a car.
