"The overall aspect of the property was misleading, the property wasn't of a standard that I would expect from a Vrbo property or any rental property, the cleanliness was far from acceptable, massive cobwebs in a few rooms, stains on carpets, rugs that we really a bad trip hazards, the one at the top of the stairs which we moved, sofa bed not fit for purpose, stains on bedding, dishwasher didn't clean properly, no welcome pack, lights in the small bedroom wasn't working, mold and grime build up...

"This was our first time staying here and it certainly won't be our last. The shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and has such a cosy and comfortable feel to it. The under floor heating kept it lovely and warm too despite the snow outside (which also made it super pretty). The outside space was so private and had a fantastic view over the fields and to the hills beyond. Our favourite thing was sitting out at night by the fire pit and relaxing, looking up at the stars. "Very nice hotel in the centre of Chester. Great restaurant and a spacious room. Very comfortable bed. Only complaint was the show was a shower and tub combo which didn’t drain well and was not easy to shower in. I think that’s more of a cultural thing with the UK preference vs American. All in all this is the best hotel in Chester that I have stayed in (stayed in a lot over the years)."

"Stayed here for a second time and it’s a lovely hotel. Room was quiet. Stayed in the small double which was perfect for one person for a few nights. Bed was very comfy and cosy. Bathroom and shower were great too. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Would stay here again if in Liverpool for it being a lovely hotel and in a great location. This hotel doesn’t serve breakfast which didn’t bother me anyway."

"Nice and clean with fabulous location, but I had a few small issues during my stay. Toilet flush wasn't strong. Any use of the toilet required multiple flushes to do the job. Drainage in the bath was slow and water started to fill after a few minutes in the shower. Breakfast was poor. Pale bacon and sausages. Cluttered tables with used dishes. No real system to the flow of breakfast, just guests wandering around trying to find things. Oh, and no bottled water in your room either. When you've traveled 4 hours to get there, a basic drink isn't too much to expect. Two rooms booked which wasn't cheap on a Saturday evening, but my view is that the staff are nice and friendly, but rooms and basics need some attention. "

"Gorgeous studio room, although there was an awful smell in the shower because it hadn't aired out. Monday morning was terrible when we were woken up by workmen in the room / roof above us, really annoying that we weren't warned about it or maybe been given a different room to begin with. Central location is great. Spa was good but very crowded for a Monday, so would not recommend visiting at a weekend or in peak times. Pillow selection could be better, far too soft."
