Relaxing Get Away

We love staying here!

This was our second time staying here and we are already planning next year's trip! The house is cute and cozy, spacious and you can't beat the deck and screened in porch! It is so close to the beach and the outdoor shower is so nice. The owner is great to work with and always answers any questions I have.

Wonderful stay in a beautiful home

Wonderful & charming home ideal for extended families. Has all the amenities with two great decks. Close proximity (easy walking distance) to the ocean and the sound (driving distance). Outside shower perfect for sandy trips to the beach. Owners were simply lovely with quick responses to our questions. Would love to stay here again.

Great place to stay...great access to beach down the street

The house was wonderful. We enjoyed the screened in porch and all the games they had to play. We played dominos alot. Lorri was great with the communications on the place and everything in the area. Would rent again!!

Quaint and Quiet and Comfortable

We loved our second stay at the "Welcome Back" house as much as we enjoyed the first time. Robbi is a wonderfully attentive and gracious host, and she responds incredibly promptly to all our queries. The house is well stocked with anything the guests may need, and it's cozy and comfortable. The location is great - close to the beach and convenient restaurants while it's away from any hustle and bustle. Our stay was wonderful.

Wonderful Stay!

We really enjoyed our stay! Perfect sized home, plenty of amenities, everything you need. Screened porch is great. Outdoor shower is wonderful coming off the beach. My daughter really enjoyed the porch swing. Plenty of nearby restaurants, markets and shopping. Sadly, the closest ORV ramp (#23) is closed Apr-Oct (seasonal). In the summer, the nearest ORV ramp (#25) is a few more miles southbound. Highly recommend for small family or group!

First Family Trip

This was the first time we were all able to go on a trip together and this was the perfect place for it. We brought our three dogs, who LOVED the deck and we really appreciated the enclosed area for them to have their bathroom breaks. The whole house very thoughtfully laid out, and just perfect for the whole family! We can’t wait to return in the future!

This charming little cottage was a perfect getaway even in the off season.Very well maintained and stocked with everything we needed to host a nice Thanksgiving dinner. The owner was very attentive and quick to respond. We were centrally located to get to any destination in the OBX.... We will be going back!

1st time to Outer Banks

Great location! Short walk to amazingly beautiful, uncrowded beach! Short bike ride to sound side beach access, ice cream shop & Dollar General. Cute decor throughout house :) Clean, well-stocked kitchen. Outdoor shower - best idea ever! Can't wait to be welcome-d back to Outer Banks next year!

Great Trip!

The trip to 'Welcome Back 'was excellent! The house was clean, spacious, and well equipped. The beach is amazing and the kids had a blast spending all day in the warm waters. We spent a few mornings and evenings relaxing on the upper deck enjoying the sea breeze. Lori was an excellent host and the open communication took the fear out of travelling during these times. Lori's personal touches made us feel welcomed and we would definitely be back.

Cozy cottage, we loved staying here

The "Welcome Back" was immaculately clean with everything you need right there. The kitchen is organized and very well stocked, linens provided. I felt as if I were staying with a friend for the weekend, NOT a rental property. It is decorated beautifully and makes you feel at home. We loved it and had a beautiful week making memories in the OBX. Thank you Lorrie!

Great Beach House

The house was perfect for our family vacation. It was clean, well stocked, and Lorri was always prompt to respond with any questions we had. The porch and decks were amazing! We sat outside almost every day. The only minor detail that would have been a nice addition is to have a TV in each bedroom. The location was great too, being about a half hour or so from either the Nags Head or Avon areas in case we wanted to venture north or south.

Super Relaxing

The Welcome Back house has everything our group of four ever needed and it looks just like in the pictures. It's clean, cozy, well organized, and functional. We couldn't have asked for more! Lorri is a super hostess! She feels more like a friend who goes out of her way to make us feel special. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we'll come back!

Welcome Back is Welcome Back

This is a wonderful home. New furniture in the living room. As always the screened in porch protects us from mosquitos, the outdoor shower is phenomenal, the upper deck provides endless late night views of the sky and sounds of the ocean. The walk to the beach gives awesome sunrises and endless time enjoying the sand and the waves.

OBX Beach Retreat

Absolutely beautiful, spotless, comfortable home! We had an amazing week just a short walk to beach. Everything you could need for fun vacation fully stocked kitchen, grill, games, deck with awesome views. Our host Lori was incredible! She is responsive to questions, provided lots of info on the area since it was our first time to OBX and even greeted us when we arrived. We were even lucky enough to get in a few hours early which was so appreciated!!! Would definitely return .

Quaint Getaway by the Sea

All in all, our family had a wonderful time staying at Welcome Back. The accommodations were adequate and very tastefully decorated, although a bit cramped for 6 adults. The beach was not as close as we originally believed, about 5 to 7 minute walk. The owners were very helpful with information and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. My son stated he would rate this as one of his best vacations ever, which is saying a lot since he travels all over the world and stayed in places such as Japan, Brazil, and Portugal. We will definitely consider staying here again.

Quiet area, great neighborhood

We loved the outdoor deck spaces and all the fresh air this house delighted us with during our stay. Lots of different levels, shaded, unshaded, breezy, or calm. Something for whatever you were feeling. We also enjoyed walking the friendly neighborhood and the quiet laid back area of Salvo. Lori was great to work with, she made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. Especially appreciated the ability to bring our dog on this trip, would book again!!

Loved this place!

My children and I had such a good time staying at this house. The host Lorri was amazing. She communicated and even sent us a beach bag with a picture of the property in it. She was very responsive and did a great job decorating the place and accommodating. The outdoor shower was a lifesaver and very nice! the location was in a peaceful neighborhood. The walk to the beach took about 5 mins. We would definitely stay here again! I actually want to buy a house in that area in the future :)

The Most Gracious Host

Lorri went above and beyond from the moment I booked the house. Her welcome emails were detailed and informative, her response to questions was incredibly fast, and she couldn’t have made us feel more welcome if she tried. We came for a birthday week, and the sweet card beforehand and the pastries during the week elevated our stay to the next level. The house was incredibly clean, well decorated, and comfortable. The ability to close the deck off and the little dog pen down below made it very canine friendly too. The house is perfect for a small family or a sister’s trip like we had. I hope everyone has as lovely a stay as we did!

Relaxing Time and Great location

Plenty of space for our family and everything one would need to cook/eat/sleep. Great location and a short walk to be beach. Plenty to do locally and a short drive to do some of the more popular attractions. The only thing we found issue with was the outside dog pen/grass area listed does not hold smaller dogs (one of the main reasons we reserved the home). Our pups are mini schnauzers and got right out through the gaps between posts and fencing and we had to go find them, which we did. Other then that it was great and we would gladly go again minus our dogs 🙂

Great house and owner

Welcome Back is a great house. This is our third year in it and we love staying there. Easy access to the beach and the best part it isn’t a crowded beach. It seems that there are updates every year. Last year it was the washing machine and living room furniture and this year was the decks and stairs with better lighting. Lorri is very friendly and communicated with us prior to our vacation with COVID updates for the county to make sure we were prepared. I got to meet her this trip and she is a super nice lady.. Thank you for opening your home to us.
