We dined in the Bistro & Ellie recommended the 3 course special for $59 per person. This was the best dinner we had so far during our trip in Tasmania. "My parents were the managers in the 70s (I was 3-6 years of age). It was the Sandy Bay Motel back then. So wonderful to recognise the buildings and remember some of the fun times when I was little. We had several "famous" people stay with us. My fondest memory was meeting Acker Bilk who gave me a ukele. As a 4 year old I was tickled pink! I will definitely be back soon and thank you for so much for the trip down memory lane. 😊"

"This place is fantastic for travelling families, even in winter. Nice and quiet location, close to the airport and with plenty of things to do onsite, including playground, games room and board games for the apartment available at reception. The three bedroom deluxe apartment is warm and cosy. "
"The property was very nice and we were able to find it just after dark with communication from the host. The cabin had a sunken living room and loads of windows to see nature through. There were pull down shades for privacy as needed. Having a washer and dryer in the unit with laundry soap provided was very helpful. We did not use the kitchen facilities but they were adequate for a several night stay. Instead we frequented the amazing restaurant on sight both evenings and really enjoyed our meals. The chef is amazing and her dishes are clearly cooked and presented with love. "
