“Cozy, clean and quiet. The lake is absolutely gorgeous. Clear sandy bottom and shallow along the shoreline. We enjoyed kayaking and even caught a few sunnies! We made most of our meals at the cabin but did venture out to Riley's Cannibal Junction for a couple of awesome burgers and a quick stop at Hayslips Corner just down the road. There's also a great little store within walking distance from the cabin with almost everything you could ever need. Thank you for sharing this wonderful cabin with……

“Our family had a great time at the cabin! Mamie was a wonderful host and we appreciated all of the little “extras” during our stay! The cabin was just as described and was perfect for our family which included a 6, 13 and 16 year old. The lake is pristine and incredibly beautiful! Our kids enjoyed swimming in the lake and jumping off the floating dock! We enjoyed the peddle boat as well and took it for several spins on the lake! “Perfect location for those looking to xx ski and fish. Miles of groomed trails nearby and unlimited back country skiing via the lake and Chippewa National Forest. We loved how quiet the lake was. No human activity other than our group. The dogs had a blast exploring the national forest and its critters. Fishing was fantastic. There's a large sunken bar about 3/4 mile east of the cabin that supported a diverse fish community. The cabin is so spacious with the massive game room attached. So many……

“Beautiful historic log cabin with all the amenities you would want. The grounds are well kept and very scenic. The area is very peaceful, relaxing, and interesting. This is our second year coming to the Marcel Lodge and have had a fantastic experience both times.”

“The tent cabin is really cute and was comfortable for a family of four. We used the sauna and also rented the boat for a couple of days. It is on the steep driveway, which isn’t a problem for us since our car is four-wheel-drive, but you will want to avoid driving to the bottom if you have a 2 Wheel Dr. car. Be aware that the lakefront is not swimmable because of high vegetation, but the lake itself is beautiful and great to take a boat on. Close to Grand Rapids and many other activities. ”

“As you get closer to the cabin the forest gets more dense.Look up at the lush canopy that surrounds you.Suddenly it’s quiet and the noise of the outside world is gone.The cabin has a short steep driveway off a quiet dirt road.It feels very private.The large fire pit(great for fire cooking)is surrounded by tall trees & moss covered ground.Bring your phone and go on a mushroom hunt around the property.The bathroom is the fanciest outhouse you will find. “The property was well maintained and easy to use for our family. The kitchen was well stocked with the needed pots/pans/dishes/utensils. We really enjoyed the fireplace. The listing wasn’t completely clear that the property was a part of a larger condo building with other guests staying right next door and there were a lot of flies and beetles on the floors and walls. ”

“We had a fantastic long weekend at the cabin! Joe was a responsive and helpful host—communication was smooth from start to finish. The cabin itself was exceptionally clean, spacious, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed (and more).We brought our boat along and had no trouble launching it, thanks to the nearby public access. The lake was perfect for fishing, and on the hotter days, we really enjoyed swimming and floating right off the dock. The kids especially loved using the kayaks……
