Enjoyable stay, uneven room temperature
This was a good value overnight stay for central Utrecht, and great to have the private bathroom facilities. The room only has floor radiator that you can control, but I found it would only heat the side of the room nearest to it and not the rest of the room towards the bathroom. It wasn't a terrible issue, but a little irritating to be so cold everytime you walked to and from the bathroom. Aside from that, there was a great view to the square from my room (#105) and a nice lounge area in the common space outside the room to work from or relax.

Very pleased with this property. We decided to try a hostel for one night during our trip to let our kids see a hostel. We were so pleasantly surprised by this hostel. We did pay for upgrades like linen service and towels and Kate check out. Worth it to us. It was nicer than all our much more expensive hotels in three cities in Belgium. The location was fantastic. The service was great. We loved the little restaurant and bar connected to it and used their games. We would all stay here again.

Great stay here at stayokay hostel. Place is situated on a lovely square with restaurants and sit down bars, great for summer months to have a drink or two outside. Booked a private room which was clean and basic. Shower room was a decent size and had a powerful shower. On site bar was cosy and had areas where you could just relax, with a separate area where you could work (laptops etc). Close to main streets and canals. Checking in and out was easy. Only issue was, that the windows we had in our room (sizeable) couldnt be opened, also no ventilation either. Great view but due to temperatures outside reaching 30°c, this made it some what stuffy in the night when trying to sleep, not unbearable but also not so comfortable either.

It is perfect for young people. The place was full of teenagers, or people below 25 or even less! It isn't quiet because of that. They were partying :). So for adults, only to stay one night or so. The location is terrific!

Great location ! We had a room overlooking the main square which was great for people watching. Only an 8 minute walk to the train station. Loved that they had laundry facilities on site. Room was good but shower had no curtain so the water kind of went every where. Great stay and would stay again if ever in Utrecht!

Great stay, be wary of luggage room
We had a lovely stay. It was lots of fun, the staff were all really friendly and had great service. Food was delicious. We had lots stolen from us in the luggage room so be careful lots of people have access and there are no security cameras. Security in our rooms was great though. Excellent facilities and great location.

I liked the location of the property and the layout of the room. I disliked that the room wasn’t properly cleaned. When I was making my bed chocolate and a coin fell from the side of the mattress and there was also a sticky stain near one of the bunk beds. At one of the top bunk beds we found a dirty sock when we wanted to make the bed. This could have all been avoided if the domestics would do their work with love. The check in staff were extremely friendly and engaging :)

Good but pricey
The stay was good, very friendly staff. The room was good, my only problem was that you cannot open any windows so the air was a bit stale during the heatwave we were having. Loved that you can hire a bike at the hostel. Would gladly stay there again but the price is a bit steep for a hostel room.

Overall a great place - must bring towels though
This was a fun hostel to stay at! A fantastic location in Utrecht - exactly where we wanted to be. The service was good, and the hostel had plenty of amenities. Our one downside was that I didn't know we would need to bring our own towels. No towels in the room, not even hand towels. So no showers. Luckily we were only there for one night. Overall I would stay again.

Loved the location, travelled alone so to be only a short walk from the train station and close to the canal was great. The room I found was quite noisy which I think was down to where it was in the building however it is to be expected when staying in hostels.

A hostel in name only.
This hostel has hotel quality. Very clean, neat and tidy. The rooms (even for 6) are spacious and have on suite facilities. Very good shower. No feeling of all in it together. Exceptional staff; nothing to much trouble. Total feeling that detail thought about. Again without hesitation.

My goto hostel
Stayed here several times for short business trips during the week. Because it’s convenient to the train stations and close to other big cities, without paying the premium prices. Nice and quiet, but still be able to meet new people, nice communal area and clean.

Very friendly staff, nice location, comfortable place to stay, with decent breakfast. The high speed wifi is excellent for work. I was just unlucky to share a room with a rather unhygienic person, leaving a pile of empty pizza boxes and other F&B packaging in the room and dirty (smelly) clothes on the floor.

OK at the Okay
We stayed at the Stayokay as a base for two nights in Utrecht to see a music gig at the nearby Tivoli. We stayed in a room with a private bathroom. The facility in the room are spartan, but it is a hostel so we didn't expect anything else. Having said that the room was spotless, the bathroom was of a good standard. I would advise to buy a padlock so you can store away valuables in the provided lockers. You can get a breakfast for €6.50. To be honest, the breakfast wasn't very exciting, a tad overpriced for what you got. The staff are very friendly, and helpful. Checking in was seamless. The location was excellent, near the Utecht's centre. The room is good value, and the next time I am in Utrecht I will definitely stay at the Okay.

A great stay right in the heart of Utrecht
The hostel has a very good location, right in the central of Utrecht, pretty much walking distance from the train station and all attractions, and right in the middle of hangout places too, so very convenient to get around. The rooms and surroundings was well maintained and clean, also the cafe at 1st floor by the reception was very nice and convenient. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Utrecht

All members of the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and although we thought that the hotel would be rather basic we found that it had everything we needed for a thoroughly enjoyable break and we couldn't have got closer to the center of the city.

Very nice hostel. Central location. Only 10 minutes walk from the train station. Great interior. Nice and very kind staff. Good bar/restaurant area and reasonably priced. Very clean and tidy. However, a little bit noisy at weekend being near bars and clubs etc...Plus, no communal kitchen, which most other normal hostels have. So, can't cook own food. Overall though, a very nice experience and would highly recommend. Also, security is very good with just own level key card system. So it stops intruders from outside or other levels entering level which you are staying at. A great value for money hostel/hotel.

Clean, friendly place to stay
We stayed two nights in a double room. Apart from not having a tv and a kettle it was not much different from staying at any hotel we have stayed at. The view from the window was amazing. It was very clean, staff were very friendly and breakfast was very reasonable and tasty. A ten minute walk to central railway station.
