Had a relaxing and enjoyable time. It was NOT exactly what we had planned but it had nothing to do with the accommodation. We were there four days. It rained off and on for four days.

Great Adirondack getaway
We had a wonderful time at the cabin. There were plenty of stars to see at night, and the cabin suited are needs well. Check-in and checkout was easy, and we were able to do lots of good hiking near the Lake Placid area. The fireplace was great to come back to in the evenings. The walls/doors of rooms are pretty thin, so there is not an abundance of privacy. The driveway is gravel up a short, steep road. We got up it in a Toyota Prius fine in the fall, but if there had been snow it would've been harder.

Rustic Cabin for a quiet getaway
Rustic style cabin in an out-of-the way location perfect for getting back to nature. Very nice pond-side area a short walk down the driveway and across the road (only a few cars/day). Good assortment of kayaks, canoe, paddle board to explore the pond. Owner was very responsive to an issue with the stove that was quickly resolved. No cell service but could make WiFi calls once connected. Would have liked to have had a document listing activities in the area (within 30 minute drive), such as hiking trails, parks, public access points on lakes, etc.

Great location with lake access
This camp checked all of the boxes for us. Great location allowing us to paddle our Hornbecks on different lakes, almost everyday, short hikes, walking, biking and daily swimming in Bass Lake. Loved the peacefulness and remoteness. After camping kayaking for years, nice to have a comfy bed and a shower. Big fridge, well stocked kitchen, dependable wifi (not robust enough for streaming), screened in porch, many hooks for hanging stuff, and many outlets everywhere. The washer and dryer were great! (Wished the detergent was scent free.) Appreciated the use the garage for our bikes. The location felt very safe for us 2 women. The lake is across the street from the house which I didn't understand until I read the reviews. Just a short walk down the driveway (house is on a hill) and stairs. The pictures are deceiving. Mary was readily available and responsive for questions and concerns. The only criticism is that the camp could use a good cleaning. The shower was really scummy, and the floors could use a hands and knees wash. Baseboards, and surfaces need a good dusting. Also missed a little info booklet about local walks, bike rides, nearest stores, etc. We enjoyed our stay and were grateful we found this camp in a great location!

Great rustic cabin
Cabin was very clean and property was private. We loved how dog friendly it was. Excellent selection of kayaks and other boats. Floating dock could use some work as there are nails sticking out. Would have liked to have one Queen or king bed instead of two twin beds pushed together for couples. Would like a more clear outline of use of Loon lake. Would like better way to contact owner as I sent a message when we got there and it was never answered. If something broke or there was an urgent issue then it would have been a big issue not being able to contact owner. Overall a great Rustic cabin for a quiet week or weekend.

A peaceful place
We enjoyed the time we spent here. Did some hiking and adventured into Saranac Lake a couple times. Although the weather wasn’t perfect we relaxed at the lake when we could. Worked on our puzzle and read. It is generally quiet and at night we could hear the loons. It was a great get away to take time out and spend time together.

Very relaxing and fun!!
This camp feels like a cozy, warm and inviting place. We love the size of the rooms and the comfort of the beds. The laundry room is fantastic since we have little ones. The kitchen is well stocked so you only need to bring food. The water area is amazing to say the least. We love fishing off the shore, the amount and variety of boats, the dock to swim to, the gazebo, the firepit and the lawn area for the kids to play. We had a fire every afternoon and evening. We are hooked on Mary's camp and we just booked our summer 2024 third camp stay at this lovely cabin and fantastic water area. It is not modern at all and that is what we love about it. We used to rent a modern camp but it did not feel cozy and it was not comfortable. We found this gem that meets our needs for our family camp trip. The check in and check out are so easy! We are all excited to be there again next year.

Rustic Cabin Stay
Easy check in process and very nice property with lake access down the driveway with kayaks/canoe. Cleaning process prior to check in didn't appear to be done well, dirty dishes, heavy dust layer on bedroom floors, and no trash bags. This cabin is truly rustic and will bring you back to the 1960s. Overall a nice stay but could use minor updating and a better cleaning.

Beautiful Rustic Cabin
What a wonderful weekend we just had at Mary’s. Cozy and comfortable to say the least. With 2 small children I was a little nervous about no TV, but an old fashioned weekend together playing games and having fun was more than we could have asked for. Short trip to Santa’s Village in the North Pole. Perfect. Thank you again for your hospitality!

Short trip
As nurses, my friends and I are nurses have enjoyed taking a long weekend getaway since the start of the pandemic to the ADK. This yr, we chose this cabin based on the pictures. Mary was very responsive with any needs my friends and I asked about, to include having to change our dates for staying due to a death in one of our families. When we arrived after dark so it was a little harder to navigate to the cabin expecting deer surprise of a hard inclined driveway. Thankfully we able to make it up the driveway without too much of an issue due to the vehicle we had. The door was unlocked when we arrived which we found odd. At a first glance the cabin looked very cozy and well loved/lived in. The furniture was obviously well used with some pet hair noted-but we are all animal owners ourselves so we didn’t think much of it. Later that evening, we noticed a mouse run down from the loft area to the kitchen. Again, not that big of a deal to us considering we all have encountered field mice before at our homes living mostly in the country. However, the next morning we noticed just how unsanitary the kitchen was. The cupboards that housed all the dishes and pots/pans had a LARGE amount of mice droppings all over them. All items we used had to be throughly cleaned prior to use. That’s also when we started noticing other things that made the cabin less cozy and more “unclean” of a feeling. There was “fluff” of dust all along the floor boards making it look like sweeping/vacuuming hadn’t happened between guests-the worst being up in the loft bedroom which is carpeted. There were linens found in the dryer that again made it feel like there had been no last minute cleaning between guests. The shower drain had a large amount of hair left in it, which made us feel like we needed to wear socks while showering. And blankets had been left balled up down near the lake. When we went to have a camp fire, there was hardly any wood left. The was approximately 5 halves in the screen in porch, and nothing left inside next to the wood burning stove. Part of the draw we had to this cabin was the statement of the cozy nights next to the wood stove. There was no ax or other means we could find to ensure we had more wood available to us. This cabin has amazing potential, but the amount/feel of lack of cleanliness made us very unlikely to return or suggest this cabin to others like we’d done in the past

A wonderful place to unplug
This is a wonderful cabin in the woods to get away from the day-to-day craziness of life, unplug, relax and unwind. The cabin has a nice warm cozy feel to it. The beds are comfortable and there's ample space (even though it was just my wife and I, we could have easily had 4 more adults). I enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch looking out at the lake through the trees while it rained one morning. Firing up the wood stove was a great treet. The lack of cell service (Verizon) was great! :) The internet got the job done for what little bit I wanted. By far, my favorite part is the private lake access. I caught some fish off the dock, went kayaking and canooing with the available selection of kayaks and canoos, enjoyed a couple of fires by the lake, and sat in the screened in gazebo with a nice cup of coffee. Mary was very responsive to my questions and helpful. If you're looking for a wonderful place to unplug, go hiking (Loon Lake Mountain trail is right up the road - we climbed it), fishing, boating and enjoy the wonderful peace of nature, this is the cabin for you.

Rest & Relaxation
Everything was super easy to follow directions; how to get there, how to get into the property, where things were located. This property is great if you are looking for somewhere quiet to relax with your family or friends. We were able to bring our pet with us & we weren’t having to worry about traffic or other people around. We were able to go for a few walks & mainly relax by the water. The property had everything you needed. From pots & pans, bath towels & wood to burn at your campfire. 10/10 would recommend & will definitely book again!

Beautiful location. Cabin needs some upkeep
We had a nice time renting this property, as the location and lake access made the trip. The lakeside is beautiful, and plentiful boats made for lots of fun! However, the home is in need of a deep clean and some essential upkeep. The furniture was quite loved, pet hair was visible upon arrival, and air quality inside the home was poor. It was apparent that a mouse had rummaged through the cabinets, leaving behind ‘presents’ on the dishes as well. The property has amazing potential, but needs a little extra care.

Lakefront Beauty.
First off, the owner, Mary, is over the top kind. My daughter left a Bluetooth speaker, Mary contacted me about this and then mailed it back to her in Vermont. Thank you! The rustic cabin sits on a hill and was honestly a challenge for both me and my partner, (we are both seniors,) But this short hike to the beautifully landscaped lakefront made the task a joy. The Lakefront was the star attraction for this property. We often took our morning coffee to the lake listening to the loons on nearby Loon lake. Star gazing was a treat every night too. Late afternoon sunshine was just so relaxing in the comfortable Adirondack chairs. My only suggestion would be to consider an upgrade in boxsprings and mattresses. But please note we are the only reviewers mentioning this.

We like to get away from it all and usually camp in order to do so. We loved the cabin’s private setting, gorgeous views, and of course, the lake. We were thrilled that there are no tvs! The kids had a blast and so did we. The perfect place to disconnect and bond. Lots of thoughtful touches like horsefly spray for dogs. Thank you for a lovely week.

Family fun and relaxation!!
Upon entering Camp Asulikit it smelled woodsy and clean. There was a radio playing low and gave it a very welcoming feeling. The camp was open concept for maximum family time. The bedrooms were perfect for our needs and the beds were comfortable. Mary has everything you need. The washer and dryer came in very handy with small children. We loved everything about the camp. The water access was a nice short walk down the driveway and across the road. It was wonderful that the small children could not walk out of the camp and have access to the water. This was a huge plus. Once at the water we used the row boat, paddle boat and kayaks they had readily available. We had fires in the very nice firepit and sat in the wonderful Adirondack chairs in the afternoon to relax and nap. The gazebo which connects a path to the dock came in very handy when we had a short bout of rain. We all caught many fish from the boats as well as the shore. It was truly relaxing and a wonderful experience for our grandchildren. We brought a really nice rolling bag that goes down and up stairs and loaded it for any thing we needed at the water. We also brought a cooler full of water and left it by the water the entire time we were there. We booked a return trip as soon as we got home. We are already looking forward to our return visit next summer. Mary has the camp fully stocked so if you forgot anything it was there. We made wonderful family memories and look forward to more next year.
