The tub was not clean, with hard water stains throughout. The shower faucet leaked, and while I did use the tub, I cleaned it beforehand. The amount of grime on the washcloth afterward was shocking. There was also a clear shampoo bottle cap left in the tub—easy to miss, but still something housekeeping should catch. That said, I truly enjoyed having a tub to soak in, especially since I have chronic back and hip issues. The bed, unfortunately, was very uncomfortable, and I had trouble sleeping during my three-night stay. Noise from the nearby road—especially from semi trucks—also made it hard to rest, though I understand that’s due to the location. I appreciate that the hotel is historic, and I think my aunt, who owns a historic home, would love it here. However, some furnishings felt a bit cheap and didn’t match the historic charm of the building. The staff were responsive and courteous, which I really appreciated. I’ve read about recent renovations, but the bathroom could use further attention—at minimum, a deep cleaning and plumbing repairs. I was told there's a recurring leak from a second-floor room affecting the ceiling below, which seems to be a known issue.

The property looked very nice and well kept upon driving yp to it. We were greeted by the gousekeeper. The room was large with a private access to the out side wrap around porch.

We enjoyed the cleanliness & quality of linens and mattress. Would have like a screen slider to enjoy fresh air off the balcony. Definitely need an upgrade to in-room coffee facilities. The machine is very old style and uses horrible "filter pack" coffee that brews like a weak tea. Have not had this type of machine in years in other hotels, which have mostly upgraded to K-cups or Nespresso. Also could use a simple hot water kettle for tea or pour over coffee. We also noted absence of gluten free dessert options in the fine dining restaurant. At the very least, every other restaurant of this type we've used over many years offers an ice cream option!
