Everything was super comfy and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked, which was great because we cooked a lot. We traveled with my parents, our adult children and our younger kiddos and it worked out great! The house was clean, beds were comfortable, and the kitchen had everything we needed. We baked cookies, did polar plunges, played games, and watched movies. The location was great for traveling to local towns. We had some snow (which was awesome) and the property manager had it cleared in no time. We found ourselves with a slight maintenance issue and the owners were responsive and had it resolved in 2 hours. The beauty of the lake sunrises and sunsets were indescribable. The lake access was fabulous, and we enjoyed using the kayaks and paddleboards, despite their worn condition. Being 5 min to Windham town was convenient for our large group with little kids. The layout of bedrooms/bathrooms provided private space for each couple. The dock with tie-ups for a boat was great, and we rented a pontoon to fully enjoy the lake. Sunset views, adirondack chairs, and a fire-pit added to the experience. However, there were downsides. The main bedrooms had only light-obscuring shades, so be prepared for early morning sunlight. Bring an eye-mask. The unfenced yard may be problematic for those with dogs. Hazards like steep steps without railings required constant vigilance with young children. The upkeep of the house was disappointing given the high rental price. We encountered spiders, loose door stoppers, worn cookware, and uncomfortable beds. The dishwasher was finicky with a hazardous falling door. Acorns in the yard made it unsafe to walk barefoot. The stairs to the garage apartment felt rickety. In conclusion, our family vacation had drawbacks, such as the lack of darkening shades, hazards, and upkeep issues. However, the lake access, convenient location, well-designed layout, and available amenities outweighed the negatives. The house is spacious, welcoming and kept impeccably clean. We loved the amazing view and the convenience of having the town of Windham close by. There was ample parking for all of our cars. We were there off season so we didn’t see a lot of other people around but we enjoyed the beauty of Lake Sebago in he wintertime. Thanks to Steve and Desni for sharing their fabulous home, it was a pleasure to be there.
