One thing we did not like were the mattresses, really bad mattress and we have bad backs sleeping on them. Additionally i was surprised to see there is extra separate charge to use the spa facilities as one of the reasons i booked this hotel was the spa. It wasnt made clear on the booking this is the case and it is sad if this is something all hotels have started to do?"Reviewed November 4, 2026Roundtrip • Miami (MIA) - Bilbao (BIO)MIA - EAS • 2 stops EAS - MIA • 1 stop$2,467$2,124found 1 day agoper traveler - Mercure San Sebastian Monte Igueldo

Suggest to call the hotel to have a better understanding of where the room is located if it is your first time as some rooms are not part of the palace. Staff was excellent and it being our first time in Getxo/Bilbao, they were very helpful and informative with great recommendations for sightseeing, shopping & dining. To be honest, they were all great but Mercedes, Ysabel, Christian, Alvarro, Arkais, Asiyer,"Reviewed October 24, 2026Roundtrip • New York (NYC) - Bilbao (BIO)JFK - BIO • 1 stop BIO - JFK • 1 stop$2,009$1,796found 14 hours agoper traveler

Room was air conditioned which was a welcome relieve from the near 40C outside. Room was spacious with a very generous sized bathroom, beds were comfy and water was in the mini fridge. There was no kettle in the room. Room/hotel were...
