Music Hot Spots
Just follow the techno beat
Love a good beat? Whether you want to spend all night at a techno club in Berlin, catch a classical concert in Vienna, or hope to spot Taylor Swift in Nashville, here are some of the best cities in the world beckoning music lovers to come visit right now.
COVID-19 Travel Alert: Please remember to check government advisories before booking and travelling.

1. New Orleans, Louisiana: Jazz
With roots reaching back a century (or more), jazz music is as synonymous with New Orleans as beignets and Mardi Gras. You can learn more about the genre at the New Orleans Jazz Museum or catch a live performance every night along the French Quarter's side streets. You won't be disappointed no matter where you go, but do try to visit Preservation Hall and the Spotted Cat for a guaranteed good time.

2. Berlin, Germany: Techno
After the fall of the Berlin Wall, locals turned several abandoned buildings into nightclubs, and the city united to become the undisputed techno capital of the world. Berlin's club culture reaches nearly mythical proportions, with mainstays like Berghain drawing tourists from around the globe. Check out at least one techno party while you're in town, but be warned: parties here tend to start (yes, start) well after midnight.

3. Nashville, Tennessee: Country
Home to the Grand Ole Opry, Johnny Cash Museum, and Country Music Hall of Fame—plus smaller but equally iconic venues like the Listening Room Cafe and Bluebird Cafe—Nashville is a one-stop shop for country music lovers. After you catch a few live performances, grab a pair of cowboy boots at Robert's Western World and channel your inner Dolly Parton.

4. Vienna, Austria: Classical
Welcome to the classical music capital of the world. It is here that behemoths like Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Brahms, and Mahler studied and composed, and where the waltz style of music was invented. Today, you can catch live performances at venues that are almost as beautiful as the music within, including the Wiener Konzerthaus, the Theater an der Wien, the Wiener Musikverein, the Staatsoper, and the Volksoper.

5. San Diego, California: Reggae
If you’ve spent any time in laid-back San Diego, it should come as no surprise that the beachy, laid-back sounds of reggae music are so popular here. The city has churned out its fair share of local reggae bands, like Subliminal Trip and Dano’s Island Sounds, and you can find live performances pretty much every night if you know where to look. (The Office Bar and U-31 are two of the best clubs in town.)
