Visit Yosemite Mariposa County and experience spring's greatest adventures
Refresh your spirt and feel the power of nature in Yosemite this spring
When you visit Yosemite National Park this spring, Mariposa County is the best place to stay to experience the area in the early stages of its sparkling bloom. Feel the rush of the tallest waterfalls in North America and take in some of the best wildflower blooms that mother nature offers. Let Yosemite Mariposa County refresh your spirit this spring.

The best thing to come out of Yosemite
The stunning wild & scenic Merced River originates high in the Sierra Nevada before it tumbles and meanders its way through Yosemite National Park. And while rafting within park boundaries is more of a scenic float, just past Yosemite’s Arch Rock Entrance along Hwy 140 in Mariposa County, paddlers can hop on a raft for the day and enjoy the Merced’s rollicking whitewater.

Stream-ing Live! Waterfalling in Yosemite
The pinnacle of spring activities in Yosemite National Park, there are dozens of waterfalls ranging from hundreds to thousands of feet that burst with snowmelt as they plummet from the Park’s granite monoliths.

Stop and smell the Yosemite wildflowers
With over 1,500 species of wildflowers, Yosemite Mariposa covers the color spectrum with everything from iconic orange California Poppies to blue lupine and scarlet monkey flower. Trailside or roadside, not to be missed!

Yosemite in two days
The optimal time to explore the park is several days to a week, when you can work into the schedule several days of long hikes, as well as plenty of time for lounging by the languid Merced River or cozying up to the crackling fireplace with a good book. However, two days will be enough time for one great hike (the best way to see Yosemite) and a few other glimpses into what this 1,200 square-mile UNESCO World Heritage site and natural wonder reveals to visitors. Here’s our suggestion for a quick two-day tour that will hopefully help you plan your amazing Yosemite trip.

A glimpse of the Gold Rush
If you’re looking for an authentic Gold Rush history experience in the Yosemite area, take a trip to the historic boomtown of Coulterville, which features many structures from the early days of Mariposa County’s settlers and Native American population. The entire town has been designated as a California historic district and no building does a better job at telling the story of this pioneer community than the Northern Mariposa County History Center (NMCHC).
