Hook Island Cheap Vacations

The boathouses were clean and tidy. Staff very friendly. We only stayed one night. The swing seats on the deck next to the pool was a nice feature. The continental breakfast was really good. Small selection but well thought. The place is a bit tucked in with Northerlies just next door for food and drinks (pub style food). Things to be mindful of when booking *midgies in the evenings *Parking is open air and a little away from the accomodation (not right outside your door) *not flat - lots of steps

From check-in to departure and location it was all excellent

Our stay was just ok. The trash was still full and in the kitchen from the previous guest, there were dead roaches, there were dirty popsicle sticks by the pool. The coffee machine didn’t work either. A staff member did drop a different one by after I let them know. We also had the doorbell ring at 2am and wake everyone in the house… apparently this is common when the batteries run low? Seems like they should be routinely changed to prevent that from occurring. None of these issues are big, but combined are quite a few blunders considering we paid top dollar to stay here.

The ocean views are totally worth the steep driveway to get to your apartment. We loved the infinity pool and utilised the gym. The staff were so friendly and welcomed us warmly. The location to town was perfect and the rooms were so spacious and clean. We highly recommend staying. If a steep walk up the driveway doesnt suit you, there are plenty of taxis available but you may still have to walk stairs to get to your apartment.

Mirage has excellent location, right above the water, with a walkway to get to Airlie beach and the marina. It also has a bus stop just down the road to get to Airlie beach or any other location. The apartment was huge with sweeping views of the water. The only negative for me was the bed, which was too soft but that is individual preference. The buffet breakfast was sufficient, however if you wanted real coffee you had to purchase from the bar, otherwise just instant coffee. Generally, buffet breakfast has at least percolated coffee included. The resort is well maintained, and beautiful. There are two pools, one of them adults only which is a nice option for those who prefer a quiet time.

The food venue and services are not 5 stars resort was very nice. Not much to do. Aqua and bam bam lunch restaurant and food was terrible they keep you waiting 45 minutes or more for your order. And no Comunication at all when they run out of bananas to do your smoothie after waiting 45 minutes. In Bam Bam they serve the food overcooked and burnt. Very expensive to eat and drink

Amazing place to stay! Loved the staff they helped us with everything we needed and provided helpful recommendations, loved the views, the location, the amenities in our apartment, it was like a little paradise!
