The hotel room was very clean and comfortable.
However, the hotel and a restaurant share the same property. The room door has glass panels, and both the door and windows face directly toward the central courtyard, which is also the restaurant’s operating area.
The room does not have curtains, only roller shades, and the shades do not block the outside light at all. The restaurant stays open until very late at night, and the light from outside shines directly into the room, making it impossible to sleep.
To make matters worse, the restaurant was still taking out trash at 2AM. The sound of glass bottles being dumped into the trash kept me awake all night.
I chose this hotel because it is close to the US Open, and I was willing to pay $1,500 for the convenience of staying nearby before going to the tournament the next day. However, after being awake all night, the experience was truly miserable.
