A standout feature is the secure underground garage, (at a cost of twelve euro a day) which offers direct, private access to every floor, allowing you the freedom to come and go with ease. Coupled with its wonderful food and outstanding overall service, The Strand Hotel is, without a doubt, Ireland's premier choice for an unforgettable and affordable stay.

It's a lovely little hotel on a quiet street near a park, a short walk away from lots of great food and drink -- faves include the Copper Room, the Glen Tavern & Freddies, and in the other direction, Bobby Byrne's. Also, as this is No 1 Pery Square, do go see the museum at No 2 Pery Square, so you know some of the history of the area.

Room was beautiful, clean and lovely!!

Bathroom had unfinished drywall above toilet. Hole in ceiling showed exhaust fan was not connected to vent pipe. Never mentioned at check in. Paid twice for room as we incorrectly booked wrong month. Tried to correct mistake w/ minutes. Hotel would not budge. Leonardo never again.

Room 224 needs shower caulking redone. Bike was in bad condition. Breakfast was fabulous

The phone in our room didn't work, and that's what you used to call for a shuttle to the main area. So we told three different groups of people and they still didn't do anything about the phone so we had to walk into the main area for lunch and dinner. Usually don't mind the walk, but in the rain kind of dampened things.

Excellent location! Several pubs, restaurants, and shops literally outside the door. I read lots of previous reviews from others complaining about the noise at night, but it did not bother us and wasn’t extreme. If you want a quiet place with no noise, you shouldn’t be staying in the heart of this entertainment district/neighborhood in the first place. Rooms and hotel were very clean, and nice free breakfast. Rooms were a little small, but to be expected in a historic 600 year old hotel in a historic fun vibrant area. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a place to stay in the heart of Galway.

Even though it was like a secret code to get through several doors the room was wonderful and the best night’s sleep I’ve had on my weeklong trip through Southern Ireland.

Doolin is a wonderful town to visit. If you value your privacy like my husband and I, then this is the best choice. We had a deck with a hot tub overlooking the hills and the ocean.
