Good Location

Good location and a nice hotel. One bit of advice would be to ask for a room that's not near the side of the hotel as there is quite a bit of noise from the bars on the street.

Central and easy access to and from Airport

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: I particularly liked its location and we found it to be very comfortable and the rooms well equipped and the staff very friendly.
Cons: Nothing that I could see during our very short stay
Location: From the airport it is a 15 minute train ride to Central Station and the hotel right there. No sure what to do near by as our stay was too short
Unfortunately too short - only one night but I will definitely book the same hotel again on my next Amsterdam trip. Could not fault anything within our short stay.

Five Star Accommodation! Really..?

Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The entrance hall & the polite staff that couldn't do enough for me.
Cons: A complimentary bottle of water. I suppose it's meant to be a nice touch, but I've received better from much much cheaper places.
Location: You're right next to the station so you've got all the usual facilities. There's a really nice pizza place to the left of the main entrance!
First of all, the entrance hall & such like (the public areas), are very pretty & look stunning. The room, looked like a travel lodge. I was expecting so much more, having spent good coin on it as a really special treat instead of doing the usual backpacker experience. I was most disappointed, I was so much looking forward to seeing how a Five Star room would be. And make sure you've got some serious coin if you breakfast, it's an eye swivelling $26!

Red Light District Hotel

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: The lobby was reasonably nice and easy enough to go for a walk or run along the bay in the morning.
Cons: Very noisy. Rooms so-so. Breakfast service indifferent and buffet light on the aesthetics.
Location: Great location for the central train station. Back door drops right into the Red Light district and a plethora of gay bars.
I've stayed in many hotels in Amsterdam. This one wasn't at the top of the list but presented good value. It was however a little less than I expected for what I paid.

Not sure how this ended up being classified as a 5 star hotel - the rooms are perfectly adequate, though relatively small and spartan, but it is definitely not a 5 star hotel. If you are looking for something in central Amsterdam that isn't a hostel, this will do just fine. If you are expecting a 5 star hotel experience, you are going to be very disappointed.

Could have been better

Overall out stay was pleasant. The down side was that when we arrived the lady wasn't very friendly at check in and made us stay in a apartment around the corner due to over booking. When we came back to the hotel staff in General wasn't very nice I felt they was being this way as we was a group of you he people. I stayed in nh grand kropolsky prior to staying here and that was amazing would go back there if I had to choose.

Overall the hotel was very good.

Posted May 10, 2014
Pros: The entrance, staff and the complimentary coffee, tea etc in the foyer.
Cons: The bedroomjs.
Location: Excellent location. Close to all the main attractions of Amsterdam.
We were disappointed in the bedroom. It was dull and looked in need of an update. The bed was very small and as this hotel is billed as 5 star we thought the room rated a 3 star.

Good Location, but very poor level of service

Posted May 7, 2014
Pros: The Buffet Breakfast
Cons: level of service
My in laws booked the hotel for us as a Honeymoon gift,(bed & breakfast) and we were extremely disappointed at the level of service we received at the hotel. We were unable to check into our room until after 4.30 pm. The heating was not working in our room & I found it extremely cold. Refused entry into Breakfast twice despite having shown the booking confirmation! We found this very embarrassing.
