Good location. Helpful staff. Avoid the high cost of buffet breakfast and order a la carte. Great food.

visita di Amsterdam

Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: Elegante e centrale.

The room couldnt be worse

Posted Apr 15, 2015
Had to take two elevators walk a very long distance then take A flight of stairs to get to a room with such a low ceiling like a prison cell wiith no possibiliy of sun light entering the room. The view from the window is a huge wall that is few meters away from the window. The staff are really helpful and friendly but the room is a punishment. My only way to explain it is that i did my reservations through expedia,

Convenient location

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the staff friendly
Cons: Internet access Tv channels , bit more for your money
Location: Very near central station , dam square and red light district . Trams easy to get from the station .
The hotel is conveniently located. However for a five star hotel I would expect free internet access in rooms and more than four Tv channels . All a trifle mean for a five star hotel . They also take a holding deposit of £75 from a credit card on arrival .Their own literature on what was available in the hotel was incorrect . Friday cocktail hour doesn't exist . This was a trip to celebrate my husbands birthday and his niece had requested they deliver a bottle of champaign to the room . It never arrived and after chasing round to see what had happened they delivered a bottle of Cava , the day after . On the day we checked out , the informatio desk they had no idea that there were no directt trains to the airport due to engineering works..... Luckily friends in another hotel had been told !

Great hotel in the middle of it all

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Rooms, entrance, staff and location.
Cons: €19 a day for WiFi in the room is a total rip off.
Location: Steps from the central train station and everything Amsterdam has to offer from gay bars, cafe's, red light district, food and beer.
I booked the Renaissance last minute and was worried that it's availability so close to my trip was a sign it wasn't going to be a great place to stay. The opposite was true. It was steps from the train station and a short walk or bike ride to everything wonderful that Amsterdam has to offer. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, even to a non-Dutch speaking American who didn't want to offend the customs of another country. The breakfast at the hotel was admittedly overpriced, better and cheaper local foods are steps from the front door-- literally, go out the front door and across the street to a full-service restaurant. Amenities at the hotel are on par with a luxury hotel and if you needed directions to even the most out of the way place... the Navigators were ready with maps, directions and which way out the front door you needed to turn to get your journey started.
