Extremely Noisy

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Half the hotel is right outside of a pool or in my situation a reception hall with weddings going till 2:00am. If you are looking for a hotel to sleep, than don't come here because the rooms aren't insulated against sounds at all.

I sincerely apologize for your placement of your guest room while you stayed with us. We try our best to ensure that the guests that are here for a function are down by the actual ballroom itself. In this case, we failed on that. I hope the next time you are back we can exceed your expectations as we aim to do with every guest.

Hotel Room was double booked...we didn't get the r

Posted Feb 16, 2015
Pros: NOTHING - Old, run down, musty, BROKEN pipes so the bathroom facilities were unavailable!
Cons: Tear it down and build a new one....or major overhaul of the facility!
Location: There are a lot of things to do in Fargo. We go there often but will never book anything using this site again.
We booked a king size Jacuzzi suite through Expedia. We did NOT get that room! The room was double booked. Hotel blamed Expedia. They couldn't reduce our rate since it was booked/billed through Expedia. The hotel was not the same hotel pictured on the website. It was very OLD, smelled VERY musty. I have allergies and should not stay in a room like that...now I am sick. We went to 10 different hotels but the whole town was sold out. We were forced to stay there, forced to pay the rate of a Jacuzzi suite for a very run down standard size room. Very disappointed and will NEVER use the Expedia site again to book anything! Expedia - at least put the correct pictures of the actual hotel so people know what to expect when they get there! Oh - the pipes busted on the main floor of the hotel so we couldn't even use the bathroom!!!

Good affordable option

Slightly older hotel in good condition. Pool has a cool climbing wall and hot tub. Dry sauna was not functional. Breakfast was good with reasonable selection of choices (cereal, waffles, sausage, eggs, toast, yoghurt, fruit, etc.)

Old, dumpy hotel with a fresh coat of paint.

Posted Jan 6, 2015
Pros: Front desk staff was friendly.
Cons: Tear it down and build a new hotel.
If I had know this Hotel was the old Double Wood in Fargo I never would have booked here. Expedia used pictures of a new hotel, and this is any thing but a new hotel. The pool was cold, the hot tub was not working, the sauna was out of order and the pool area was freezing. The room was not very clean, and there was a shirt hanging in the closet. The windows were so drafty it was freezing when the heaters were off, and then sweltering when they were on high enough to keep it warm in the room. The room was a non smoking room, but the bathroom area smelled like a bar. The room must have been a smoking room at one time. The WiFi didn't even work, it was terrible.

Room cramped, kids loved pool, nice breakfast

Posted Jan 3, 2015
The room was smaller than we would have liked. But clean. The kids loved the lead pads on the pool. The breakfast area was nice. The spread was good too.

Nice staff, thin walls.

Pros: It was affordable.
I stayed one night and got no sleep the entire time. All night some woman was running through the hall screaming at people whose voices I did not hear return her yelling. Hotel staff never did anything about this that I heard.

Nice stay

Hotel was clean quiet and spacious. Convenient to shopping and had a quick checkout staff kept some items in the freezer for me until next day. Very accommodating.

Limited rooms available in town

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Location, price seemed reasonable for the room until we got there.
Cons: I won't re-hash what I already wrote.
Location: Mall, restaurants, lots nearby...great location
Not a place I have stayed in years...now I understand why. I went looking for an ice machine and the staff member seemed clueless...directed me to where it used to be and then said to go upstairs right above that spot and there is another one. The Hot Tub was not! A baby would bathe in warmer water...my children said it was hard to tell the difference between the heat in the pool and the hot tub. They enjoyed the warmth of the other pool! The pool area was ridiculously cold. Our room was a pool-side suite and had two beds and pull out sofa. We pulled out the sofa to find a towel, rag and t-shirt under the bed. The room had been very poorly vacuumed as well.

Last room available and we found out why

Dirty and run down...popcorn all over the floor by the bed and chip bags from the previous people in the cabinet...There was no water pressure to take a shower.

Great location, great staff, poor facilities.

Posted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff were great and location was perfect for what we needed.
Cons: The pool facilities could be improved substantially- hot tub jets did not work and there was no steam room, even though the site says there is.
Location: West Acres Mall in only a few blocks away, as is the Scheels with a Ferris Wheel, and the University of Minnesota Moorhead.
The hotel staff were excellent and the location was perfect- extremely close to West Acres Mall and all the main shops and restaurants. The room was large and the beds were quite comfortable, as well as a good shower and great shower amenities provided (shampoo, lotion, make-up remover, etc.). However, the pool was a let down. We could find no trace of a steam room, like the website says, and the hot tub jets did not work at all. The rooms were also far from soundproof and we were awoken multiple times during the night by other guests running through the hallways and talking loudly.
