Nice hotel

Posted Jul 14, 2014
When we came into the hotel, we didn't get a welcome by the staff that was there and I didn't really appreciate that. However, it was pretty good.

We thank you so much for your feedback! We most certainly apologize for the staff if they were not there normal "chipper" selves! This is certainly not indicative of the Holiday Inn Fort Lee. Thanks again for your feedback! it was insightful. Duane H

Fun short stay.

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: All Except the obnoxious Jocks..
Cons: Better Security.
Location: A ride away into NY.
A fun short stay for July 4 weekend. Sadly it rained but all staff in hotel were accomodating and nice. Rooms are clean and fully equipted with fridge microwaves tea and coffee pots. Beds are super clean and comfortable-- with clean freash linens and assorted pillows, The bathrooms are clean and enough room to move around with large towels that cover your body when you shower. Thank Goodness. No skimpy bath towels. The restaurant was dissapointing in its hours. There are none after breakfast. No lunches to be had unless you order take away. No room service either. However there is an assortment of many restaurants who deliver 24 hrs. We had a problem with rowdy jocks 6 big burly men in a room who were going to NY to party-- They were parting hard and were running up and down the corridors well after 11 30 pm-- Security took some time to address the problem- The following day the same jocks were in the pool and using very bad language around families. Not enough security Jocks if their own to keep out trouble some punks..

Pros: Clean room.
Cons: They could run the hotel van on Sundays, so you are not stranded and have to take a taxi from the bridge to the hotel.
We had a nice clean room and a bus nearby to go across the GW bridge. Unfortunately, you can't take the bus back because of the "Jersey wall", so they run a hotel van from the NJ side of the bridge to the hotel. But the van doesn't run on sunday and you have to take a taxi. Nice buffet breakfast, not included in the room rate.

Nice hotel close to NYC

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: The pool was never open for use during the 4 days we were there, bummer for our children.
We had a nice stay at this hotel located less than 5 minutes from the George Washington Bridge and NYC. Public transportation was convenient GOING to NY, horrible coming FROM NY due to the divided highway and lack of way to cross the street. We waited for the hotel shuttle to pick us up from the bus stop for more than 40 minutes before we finally just took a taxi. Meanwhile, the Doubletree sent 3 shuttles to the bus stop in the same length of time. The room was nice, as was the night time desk staff. Day time staff seemed to take questions as an annoyance. We would stay again.

The hotel is dated and definitely needs a makeover

Posted May 28, 2014
Pros: None
Cons: The property definitely needs a makeover.
Location: None
The property is too dated and it does not live up to the expectations of a Holiday Inn title.I have stayed in better and newer properties. One has to take a complete u-turn to get to the hotel and it can get quite complicated and confusing at night as it happened with me.Please do not expect any restaurants or anything nearby. The carpets were not clean and very dated.Overall, the room was ok but the bathrooms had stains all over. Also,it took the reception almost 3 hours to provide me a toothpaste that I had forgotten to bring with me.Remember, housekeeping is available only after 8 am and it was really surprising as a majority of the hotels I have stayed have house keeping services start earlier than 8 am. Suggestion: Please try to avoid this property unless you do not have any choice.

Affordable and comfortable stay!

Posted Apr 19, 2014
Pros: Staff was courteous and attentive. Amenities were excellent. Beds were comfortable.
Cons: Corridors must be updated and cleaner as well as the elevator. Curtains and carpeting can use a deep cleaning in the rooms.
Location: Nothing special about Fort Lee unless you're planning a NYC vacation, in this case is a hop skip and a jump (across the GWB).
I have stayed at the Doubletree Fort Lee but decided to give the Holiday Inn a try in search of other options. The hotel reception area, bar, and overall appearance was very nice. The staff was courteous and attentive. The only time I had an uneasy feeling was upon using the elevator and arriving on our floor(3rd). Both areas have an older/run down look. However, upon entering my room I felt pleased. The furniture and decor are very nice, up to date and contemporary, however be advised that the bathroom is pretty small but does the job nicely. The added microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker are an added bonus, as well as the pillow options (2 firm and 2 soft on each bed), and the flat screen TV (perhaps a 46 in.). I had no problems driving to the hotel as I had maneuver the route to the Doubletree many times, once you get used to it it is no problem. Be advised that there will be a $13 charge every time you decide to cross the George Washington Bridge into NYC so when booking I do take this amount into account. Randy (reception) was great:) upon checking out.

A great stay close to the city!

Posted Apr 14, 2014
The hotel staff was very pleasant and super helpful. Traveling with three young men and a service dog can be a mess. The staff was quick to suggest take out, the nearest malls, easy routes into the city and every other question we threw at them. The hotel itself was very clean as was our room. Its location was perfect, right next to the exit for the GW Bridge. If your looking to stay close to all the fun in Manhattan without actually being in all the bustle and paying the huge price this place is it!

No TV service for a day close to Meadowlands

Posted Feb 13, 2014
Pros: Location to nyc and superbowl
Cons: Tv cable service
Location: Nyc meadowlands bronx zoo
Went for the superbowl! Convenient for travel from highway and to the superbowl. We checked in at 1 and went to NYC. Nice shuttle from next door to subway, but on way home there were no cabs as the desk clerk said. The hotel shuttle came but it was a little scary waiting at the stop. No tv first day, into pm next day. We asked to change rooms. Got a breakfast voucher but wasn't a fair trade for not having tv and having to move rooms.
