This my first time staying at the White Sands. Upon arrival the smell when you first walked into the lobby was very strong. It smelled musty and old. The furniture is a bit dated. The woman at the front desk was nice but seemed overwhelmed. She stated I had a fee for the hotel of $71.00 when it was stated in my Expedia that it was $50.00, in addition to a $100.00 fee they place on hold for incidentals. The was fine & expected that.
We were given a room that was fine. Definitely not 5 stars. The shower/tub had some sort of stain from a mat of some sort. The room also had plastic chairs & tables which seemed odd considering it portrays a slightly more upscale appearance. In addition, I had to check my work email and I couldn’t access the internet at all even after being given the Wi-Fi password. Then the night before we checked out I I dropped an earring and had to move the nightstand only to discover black mold on the back of it. I did mention all of this to the woman at check out as that’s a health concern.
Aside from the mold issue, I don’t know that I’d return.
