Galveston, Texas Hotel Rooms at the Independent

Everything was superb. The receptionist was not the friendliest but got past that. Our one disappointment was that we had to travel by car (two small children) to reach the beach. The work the repair crew was doing dusted our vehicle with a fine dust which we had to wash off but we understand why that could happen. The condo was excellent, very clean and necessities for cooking were available. If we go back we will visit the Maravilla again. The three pools were more than we could use but very pleasing to the eye as we were on the balcony. The heated pool was appreciated by this grandmother. The grandchildren loved the bunk beds. All the grounds were very clean and landscaped beautifully.

Loved our experience - was a quaint bed and breakfast that also had a lot of Galveston history! Outside room had easy access - was very roomy and comfortable! Would use this establishment again.

highly recommended! Near the end of the island away from the busy beaches but close enough. Condo style with full kitchen. Next time we will go to Katie's fresh seafood for caught today shrimp and fish on pier 21 every day and feast at the condo! Free ferry is fun. Bay watch dolphin cruise on pier 21 is fun. Plenty of great restaurants at very good prices compared to the North! Pizza delivery from New York pizza was awfull. Cold and tasteless. Olympic grill on pier 21 was great. And the best fancy food and service was Gaidos!!!

We've stayed at some nice places (hotel del Coronado, belagio, westin,etc...) the best hotel/resort we've ever been in. although far from home, may go there for a week just to stay there. food superb, huge pool with bar heated.

Took the grand-kids for one night get-away to see the Christmas theme and we had a BLAST! The hotel has been remodeled since my last visit and is beautiful! The staff very friendly and courteous. Although it was dreary weather on the night we were there, we still very much enjoyed the Festival of Lights on Sunday evening. We went to the Iceland exhibit on Monday and LOVED it!!! It was so very beautiful1 Would of stayed there much longer had one of the kids remembered their gloves. We will definitely go again!

Very clean, efficient check in/out, newly renovated, and nice pools...one heated. The only thing that would've made it better would be to have a hot tub.

The room was very spacious. The staff was very courteous both at checkin & checkout. The continental breakfast was good.

Very close to Galveston without having the beach front price! Husband and I went for an overnight weekend trip. Hotel was very easy to find, very quick in and out of Galveston. The young man at the desk was friendly and helpful.

Nice clean and private. parking lot a bit dirty, but for the price it was perfect.

Very nicely decorated. It felt like home. It was a perfect for that get away with every home amenity as your place. Will definitely be going back to this place.
