Clean hotel with a great view of the ocean from the rooms balcony. The ocean was right across the street, so it was easy to access. We had a wonderful stay!!!

Great place right on the gulf. Norhing fancy, but clean and comfortable. The have an outside pool that looked nice and the breakfast was large with hot and cold selections.

I drove 6 hours with my family and they said we couldn't check in because of the previous week's hurricane. I asked why we weren't notified and they blamed that on Expedia. Then I asked for a refund and they also deflected that to Expedia. Meanwhile as I sit in the parking lot with my family trying to figure out a way to salvage our trip, we watch people unpacking their cars and checking into the hotel. Galveston Beach Hotel tried to ruin our vacation, thank goodness Expedia stepped in and made it right.

This property is not family friendly, and was honestly a huge disappointment. This place was a case of one negative thing that could've easily been overlooked had other things been much nicer. So, to some, this list may seem petty, but everything just snowballed into a huge let down. My husband and I are from the area and stayed the night on during a busy summer weekend because we didn't want to drive back to the mainland after our anniversary dinner. 1. The room we stayed in was on the first floor and you could hear every sound outside the room. In fact, we placed towels around the door at night because you could see out into the hallway through the space between the door and the door frame and the light from the hallway was very bright. 2. Typically to gain access to a hotel in areas away from the front desk you must have a key card to unlock the door, right? This was not the case here. The key scanners did not work, therefore anybody could just walk in to the hotel. 3. The smell of marijuana was very obvious in the underground parking garage/parking lot. 4. The a/c was old and loud, and had to be turned to low to get the rattling to stop. 5. The shower curtain did not fit our shower, so water leaked onto the floor after the shower, even after trying to rig something up. 6. Wifi was terrible. I turned it off because my 5G worked better than their wifi. 7. Pillows were terrible. A positive - breakfast was good and eating area was large!
