A Good Place to Stay

Pros: The exceptional politeness of the staff.
Cons: I am satisfied with everything.
Location: Salina, KS and the hotel is on Crawford which is a good location for dining, getting gas, and near the hospital.
This was our third stay at the hotel in the last 6 months. We will come again. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful and interested in answering your questions or needs. The breakfast in the morning is always good with a nice variety of food items to choose from. The hot tub had been way to hot on previous visits and we mentioned this to the staff. Amazingly on this visit they had reduced the temp. to a more enjoyable and relaxing temp and I was exceptionally pleased that they cared enough to take care of this problem. I would have no problems with recommending this hotel to other people. When we return to Salina this is where we will stay again. The cost of the room is affordable. It is a Good Place to Stay.

Pros: hat it was reasonable for the locality.
Cons: Invest in beds and floor covering, it is the comfort that we pay for.
Location: Not much; it is a country town. A few chinese and mexican food restaurants.
The beds are sunken and tubs in bad shape with residue from adhesive strips, so a bath is out of the question.

Pros: Not a single thing.
Cons: Truthfully list room/hotel state. Train personnel, there was only one helpful employee & we didn't have contact with her until we were already home.
Location: The location is in a residential type area with low income housing. There were many restaurants we saw, didn't stay long enough to find anything todo.
We checked in to broken & jumbled threshold tiles. The room was not clean, it felt scummy & unclean. The tv was not mounted at all & the photos were improperly hung just begging to fall off the walls. The hotel itself was misrepresentatied in both its picture & written description. We did not stay, found another room elsewhere. The staff theirselves also proved to be less than helpful, would not come to the front desk after continued bell ringing for assistance, even though I could visibly see someone watching tv in the back room.

Best Value - under remodel

We knew what we were getting for the price. Multiple people in our group had newly remodeled rooms, ours appeared to be next on the list. Found a shirt behind the night stand and there was mold in the shower ceiling due to no venting. Lobby employees were accomodating and helpful when we had groups loitering in the lobby. Noticed they were helpful to locals as well.

Booked this hotel mainly because of the price so I didn't expect it to be "the ritz". In town to attend funeral and reserved six rooms for extended family members. Some rooms did not have soap or shampoo in the wall dispensers. one room missing hair dryer. several rooms had clothing items left behind by previous guests. ceiling in shower had large bubble from water damage/leak from room upstairs. Housekeeping and maintenance really need to be improved. There was work being done on the exterior of the building during our stay so maybe the interior will also get some remodeling.

Hotel in need of improvement

Pros: Staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Most every aspect of this hotel is in need of upgrading.
Location: Not in a very good part of the city. Stayed at another hotel the last time we were through Great Bend, but they were booked full.
Hotel is very dated and in need of major overhaul and remodel. Shabby carpeting, loose fitting doors, very noisy a/c unit in our room that did not cool properly, very noisy-sounds from hallway and outside came into room making it hard to sleep. Not in a very good location with lots of outside activity that kept us awake and resulted in the police being outside our window twice during the night.

Decent stay

The hotel is in reasonably good condition.beds comfortable. Towel rack in bath removed and anchors in the wall not finished waffles for breakfast..with butter and cream cheese (no syrup). Clerk had not heard of syrup on waffles??? Clerk at check in was polite but had difficulty in doing paperwork.

Pros: There was plenty of hot water. All room entrance doors were accessible from an interior hallway only.
Cons: The parking lot could stand to be improved. It needs some re-paving and more overhead lighting.
Location: The location is handy - right on 10th Street, the main highway through the town, straight across the street from several, national, fast food places.
The front desk people were quite pleasant. The room was adequate, good bed, clean, with plenty of towels and hot water. I could not hear the people on either side of my room, but whoever was above my room, made lots of noise. It sounded like a small child that kept running all over the room after 10:30 pm. The breakfast sweet rolls were excellent and free. The amount charged was what I would expect to pay for the overall experience.

Fair for the money- not great, not bad. Newly repainted common areas look nice, get to breakfast early - don't wait till 9:00. Friendly staff, easy checkin, no problems.
