"This is definitely something different from most vacation properties. Unfortunately for us, our stay corresponded with a 'kona low' rain storm and so we couldn't take full advantage of uniqueness of the property. In drier weather this could have been a lot of fun, but with constant rain it was only a step up from being stuck in a tent in the rain. The property managers were super friendly and helpful. The kitchenette is basically like camping. Don't plan on cooking much in it."

Unfortunately there were a couple issues that were not shared with us when we arrived...missing keys and a stove that didn't work and at the best was dangerous to use."

We woke up to an incredible view and the sounds of the farm to start our day right. Then we had some of the homegrown coffee and couldn't be happier we got to stay here."

"Our stay at the small rustic farmhouse was peaceful and very pleasant. There is an ocean view from the back deck and even colored clouds and rainbows. We met some goats that lived next door and some neighbors walking their horses up the road. The songs of the birds, frogs and roosters was a delight during the evening and daytime. We bought some fresh eggs from the hosts that was so convenient and yummy. The bed is so comfy, and the location is a great central point to start from for adventuring...

"Our Hālau Group Of 10 adults return to Hilo every year for the Merrie Monarch Hula Competition & Festivities. This Is our 2nd year to stay at Honomu Haven! We feel more at home staying here rather than a Hotel! Each day the girls take turns in preparing a breakfast before we depart for the day and also prepare a dinner to eat when we return in the late evening after the competition for that day has ended. Itʻs just nice to relax and visit around the large table in the kitchen! After a full day...
