our sheets and towels were dirty. fidge was dirtyPosted Mar 3, 2014
Cons: EVERYTHING ABOVE
We stayed for 2 nights and our sheets never got changed and the same with the towels. I went to the front desk the first night about the pillow cases have hair all over them and the refidge was dirty inside. Nothing happen. We came back the next day from being gone all day and we came back to the same thing - sheets dirty, towels dirty and the refidge still dirty. I called front desk and was told they could give us clean towels but there was no housekeeping there so they could not help with anything else. I asked on Saturday morning for the manager and was told not in and that they could not do anything but talk to housekeeping. I still had to pay full price for a dirty room. I will never stay at another Super 8 and when I told everyone at the tournamemt we were at they said the same thing.

Comfortable Hotel, easy access to I-64.Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Good breakfast, pleasant staff
Cons: It was a bit noisy, but it is a trade off for easy Interstate access.
Location: Marshall Univ is close-by.
Everything was as advertised. We enjoyed our short stay.

Won't be back, ever.Posted Nov 12, 2013
Pros: The location is decent for a Marshall football game.
Cons: Breakfast was primarily cold biscuits and waffles. Improve the appearance of the interior . A working television would be nice.
Location: It is near other hotels of which I wish I would have stayed. The indoor pool area is nice.
This hotel is only about 5 years old I think, but it is has obviously not been well taken care of. The carpet in the hallways was worn. Also, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways. I booked through Expedia with a cancellation time of 6 o'clock. We arrived after 6 so there was not an opportunity to cancel the room without fee. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a sign at the counter that the wifi and cable was out. So, my family of 4 was stuck in a room with very limited access to cable or Internet. When I commented to staff at the front desk about the television the next morning, I was told that the cable company was coming tomorrow. I said, "I am not staying tomorrow, I stayed last night". To top it all off, when I booked on-line my price was $86 with tax. When I checked out an additional $10+ was added for tax. The lady at the desk said that I would have to take that up with Expedia. At the end of the day, I ended up staying in what I would call a dump with no TV and no Internet and paid nearly $100 to do it. This will absolutely be my last stay at the hotel and likely my last experience with Expedia.

Convenient and easy to findPosted Nov 12, 2013
I stayed at this hotel because I was running the Marshall University half marathon and the other hotels I checked were booked. It was so easy to find and right off the interstate. The chain also allows pets and were so gracious in allowing my 8lb shih tzu. I also really enjoyed having the kitchenette so I could fix myself breakfast before the race. I've stayed in 5 star hotels and paid triple what this room cost that did not have this feature and were half the size. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that has normal expectations of what a hotel should be.

Weekend stay for ballgames.Posted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: I like the price, the beds have always been very comfortable. Great location.
Cons: Front desk staff needs to be informed to NOT announce the room numbers out loud to the guests. This is for safetly reasons.
Location: Huntington, WV. Marshall University. Ritter Park. Huntington Museum of Art. Keith Albee Theatre. Pullman Square. Numerous nice resturants. Great shops
Check in took a little while. The front desk lady announced my room number out loud, which as a woman traveling alone, I found this a little upsetting. Usually they show you the number on your key. When I got to my room, the door was ajar, not locked! I double checked the room, then had to return to my car. When I got back to the room the key did not work. So....back to the front desk for another key. Room was clean and bed very comfortable. The next morning, I left at 9:15am and passed 3 housekeeping carts in the hallway. When I got back at 4:00 that afternoon...my room had not been touched. No housekeeping at all. Back to front desk to ask for more coffee and a couple of towels. Check out the next morning took forever, as the same desk lady was conversing with another customer who was also checking out...and just seemed to take way too long. She did not even apologize for my wait when it was my finally my turn.

Surprisingly Nice Hotel!Posted Sep 29, 2013
Pros: Breakfast, comfortable beds, indoor pool, friendly staff.
Cons: Not much!
Location: It is within 10 minutes of the Big Sandy Superstore Arena in downtown Huntington, WV. Restaurants are close as well as a gas station.
I traveled with my family to Huntington, WV for a religious convention at the Big Sandy Superstore Arena. I chose this hotel because - even though we don't normally choose a Super 8 - it had a good rating. It also offered breakfast and an indoor pool - important for my kids. I was pleasantly surprised with this place and would definitely stay here again! We had to ask for more towels - they provided enough only for two people, not four and I also requested extra pillows, which were promptly provided with the towels. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was great! A good deal!

descent hotelPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Staff was friendly. The guy that takes care of breakfast was quick to refill anything that ran out.
Cons: Pool and hottub needs to be fixed.
Location: good location, several things to do near by.
This is supposed to be a smoke free hotel yet you could smell cigarette smoke in the hallways. The hotel staff was friendly but overlooked many things such as people smoking and having alcohol in the pool area. The hotel needs to invest in hiring maintenance, the hot tub was out of order and the heater in the pool was not working. Breakfast was good but could use a little more variety.

Good value. You get what you expect for this price hotel. Clean and doesn't smell. Lots of parking but don't go over the edge!
