Overall satisfied with accommodations. Staff was great!but room for improvement. If your on the first floor you may hear the floor squeak above you or if they stomp or jump.

Quiet time while sick

Posted May 25, 2014
Pros: Quiet
Cons: AC unit was a little noisy
Location: Close to interstate...convenient
I had reserved this hotel earlier in the day and after I got my prescriptions filled I headed there quite early hoping to be able to have early checking. A dear sweet lady named Mary, helped me get in early. She saw that I had a need & she went over & beyond her role as a desk receptionist. She even got a cart & followed me out to my truck & took my luggage go the room for me.

Frequent visits

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Pros: Location and price
Cons: Room refrigerators would be nice.
Location: Marshall University
We stay at Super 8 about five times each year, when we visit our Marshall student! Good location, nice staff, clean rooms, and a decent breakfast. Fine for our basic needs.

Nice stop over on the way home

Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: The bed was comfortable
Cons: overhead light in bathroom was out
Location: Marshall University is the only draw. The town of Huntington waterfront was sleazy
The hotel was fine for a stop over. The staff was very helpful, breakfast was limited.

Chose someplace else

It's a shame that such a prime location (and great view) contains a hotel that lacks care. The road into the hotel is in sad disrepair with major potholes. The hotel interior shows excessive wear and no attempt to improve appearance. The hallways smell of stale smoke. There are much better options within walking distance of this location. Don't waste your money here.

Last resort

Posted Mar 12, 2014
Pros: it had smoking rooms
Cons: more attention to detail
Location: Nothing in the near vicinity except fast food and other hotels
My room was clean and comfortable when I arrived , on my second day, my room hadn't been touched by the house keeping staff, So that was pretty disappointing to me The continental breakfast had very few choices , I wont be staying there again unless there is no other alternative.

our sheets and towels were dirty. fidge was dirty

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: NOTHING
Cons: EVERYTHING ABOVE
We stayed for 2 nights and our sheets never got changed and the same with the towels. I went to the front desk the first night about the pillow cases have hair all over them and the refidge was dirty inside. Nothing happen. We came back the next day from being gone all day and we came back to the same thing - sheets dirty, towels dirty and the refidge still dirty. I called front desk and was told they could give us clean towels but there was no housekeeping there so they could not help with anything else. I asked on Saturday morning for the manager and was told not in and that they could not do anything but talk to housekeeping. I still had to pay full price for a dirty room. I will never stay at another Super 8 and when I told everyone at the tournamemt we were at they said the same thing.

Comfortable Hotel, easy access to I-64.

Posted Dec 1, 2013
Pros: Good breakfast, pleasant staff
Cons: It was a bit noisy, but it is a trade off for easy Interstate access.
Location: Marshall Univ is close-by.
Everything was as advertised. We enjoyed our short stay.

Won't be back, ever.

Pros: The location is decent for a Marshall football game.
Cons: Breakfast was primarily cold biscuits and waffles. Improve the appearance of the interior . A working television would be nice.
Location: It is near other hotels of which I wish I would have stayed. The indoor pool area is nice.
This hotel is only about 5 years old I think, but it is has obviously not been well taken care of. The carpet in the hallways was worn. Also, there was a strong smell of cigarette smoke in the hallways. I booked through Expedia with a cancellation time of 6 o'clock. We arrived after 6 so there was not an opportunity to cancel the room without fee. When we arrived at the hotel, there was a sign at the counter that the wifi and cable was out. So, my family of 4 was stuck in a room with very limited access to cable or Internet. When I commented to staff at the front desk about the television the next morning, I was told that the cable company was coming tomorrow. I said, "I am not staying tomorrow, I stayed last night". To top it all off, when I booked on-line my price was $86 with tax. When I checked out an additional $10+ was added for tax. The lady at the desk said that I would have to take that up with Expedia. At the end of the day, I ended up staying in what I would call a dump with no TV and no Internet and paid nearly $100 to do it. This will absolutely be my last stay at the hotel and likely my last experience with Expedia.
