Casino Hotel with indoor and outdoor pool - loved this amenity. Has an outside area with tables and chairs where you can sit and have a drink and sometimes band or dj. Also a smoking area for my husband.
This place has changed ownerships at least twice since the last time we visited about 10 years ago. When we lived in NE Ohio, it was a nice overnight or weekend getaway for my wife and I. However, times have changed...The building appears to be in relatively good shape, but the grounds are a mess. Although the pool itself and seating areas look to be clean, the mulch surrounding pool area is littered with weeds, cigarette butts, and trash. The restaurant choices are few, with short hours, either lacking staff or competence, and have limited menus.
The Spa has only two people on staff, a desk person and a massage therapist. Years ago, The Spa had nail techs, hair stylists, several massage therapists, well stocked locker rooms and it was busy. The Spa is clean, but very disappointing to see that a once shining star at the resort has been allowed to slowly dim. We were told that they just can't hire people. That is unfortunate and hopefully they can get the staffing they need. The Spa is the only thing that kept me from giving this place one star. The rooms are clean when you arrive, but the room attendants do not clean the rooms for anyone staying for multiple days. Therefore, expect your trash to pile up, toilet paper to run out, towels to run out (unless you know to put them outside the room). It would be nice to know these things at check in. On to the casino...this place is a shadow of its former self. We won't be returning.
