The hotel and staff were very very good. However there are i or 2 changes that could make it even better. The bathroom in the standard room was very small and there was no where to place toiletries etc. Also immediately the 1st October came there was no eating breakfast on the terrace. My opinion on this that most tourists go abroad for the weather especially coming from the UK.

This hotel is amazing. The staff was outstanding and never hesitated to provide assistance for all of my needs. They speak great English which was a life saver for me as I know very little Italian.
Unfortunately I got the flu during my stay and they made arrangements for a doctor to see me and went out of their way to go the pharmacy to have the prescriptions filled and translated them into English!
They are located right at the port and in the hub of all that is going on. Shopping is right out your door with some of the most amazing shops anywhere. Lots of see at the port and great people watching.
They have great room service with a full choice of entrees and the presentation is wonderful and always with a smile and good attitudes. By the time I left I felt that they were truly a part of my extended family.

I spent a week in Ishcia with my wife at the Mare Blu, B/B, the The good points, staff excellent nothing was too much trouble, the Gala Dinner was very good value and is to be recommended, the sun terraces, swimming pool and the terme pool, mud wrap and massage were superb, buffet breakfast was good, although the room was nice with a sea view it was on the small side. I would be very pleased to visit the "Mare Blu" again

We found the staff exceptional from reception to checkout. Most staff spoke english which helped since we only know afew words of Italian
It was a totally relaxing 3 days and we wish we had stayed longer. It would be a great place for a second honeymoon.
The restaurant served great breakfasts and dinners. Our last night was a special dinner and entertainment and dancing outside on the patio.
My wife loved her massage at the spa.
The local bus stops outside the hotel and we toured the island of Ischia by bus.
A visit to the castle is a must. There are numerous beaches a short walk from almost every bus stop.
We found the Querce a great bargain with fine accommodations and great food served by friendly staff.
We can't wait to return.

The hotel was a good value. You were given breakfast daily which was acceptable. It is at the top of a big hill so to get there with your luggage you need to take a taxi. They have a shuttle that picks up and drops off at the bottom of the hill but sporadically. It would be nice if it could drop you off a little farther at the dock because walking on the cobblestones with luggage is quite difficult. The pool is nice and secluded, however, it would have been nice if it was open later than 7 pm. Most of the employees speak some English. The head waiter was very helpful and had a good command of English being able to give you travel tips. I would recommend this hotel.

Ischia is beautiful --go. The Hotel Strand Delphini has substandard service. After traveling 24 hours I was shown to a small, dark, dirty, ragged room. I barely had the strength to complain, but after trying to get me to stay in the tiny hole they finally agreed to another room -- definitely not four star. The hotel did not like having a single woman in the restaurant, and the only bad food (quite bad) and bad service (surly and churlish waiter and waitress) I had anywhere on the island was in the hotel restaurant. I had a long stay at the Delphini -- eight days. When very cold it took me 2 days to get a blanket like cardboard. I had the feeling, reinforced by an Austrian woman I met, that the Italians at the hotel were getting much better rooms and better treatment than single women from other countries. I paid for a double room -- cold and not terribly clean. Shower stall was moldy. For all its rot though it was most spectacular location and view on the island. It's a hike to town, so if you don't like to walk a few miles ... Ishchia was heavenly, and I do want to return someday...but never to the Delphini. They were rude and dishonest. I do not speak Italian perhaps a contributing factor... the staff didn't really speak English, but I really don't think that was the problem. Every other establishment I went too treated me beautifully. Ischia is the Garden of Eden, but avoid the mean nasty Delphini.

A volcanic island off the coast of Naples, Ischia is a favorite tourist destination among Italians, Germans, British, and Americans. People flock here for the beaches and the spas, as well as the Mediterranean climate and food.
