Stayed for a total of 6 nights after extending my stay the last night as I was enjoying my stay so much.
The is very little I can say to criticise the hotel, the service was excellent throughout my stay and it is one of the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. Whilst it is not a 5* luxe hotel in the manner of a Mandarin Oriental or Four Seasons it is still a superb small hotel decorated in local style with 5* luxe service and some of the best hotel cuisine I have ever eaten in a stunning setting on the roof of the hotel with breath taking views of the castle and other islands.
The rooms are not large but adequate, water pressure in shower is excellent as are the toiletries provided, Etro.
I would have no hesitation in staying again and plan to do so next year

We had a great holiday, hotel room was great although just standard room.
Nearby on the port is very good fish restaurants. Also the beach restaurant next door to the hotel is great and very welcoming. The Waltons garden is well worth a visit (Mortella)

Really friendly and helpful staff. Pretty pool with plenty of loungers and spa facilities. Good location and views. As long as you don't mind the slightly laborious trek from Naples airport I would guess you couldn't find a nicer spot in Italy to spend a few days relaxing.

This is an amazing hotel. Beautiful! Picked it up online at Expedia. The best restaurant I have eaten in Italy (and I am staying six weeks in Rome), and they let you choose from the menu for a fraction of the nominal price for external (non-hotel) guests. We ate only the buffet the entire time at a price of 20 Euros per person, and that was like a full dinner (several kind of fish, mussels, prosciutto, etc, a cornucopia. But you can choose the main course also for a nominal price, you will eat the best and freshest island food for a fraction what you ould pay in Rome. In a stunningly beautiful island setting.
There is a spa with all amenities, a small but functional exercise room.
If you ever want to have an outstanding hotel experience on the island of Ischia, or go for a retreat in the south of Italy, go to the Excelsior in Ischia! You will not regret.

The staff at this hotel was exceptionally helpful - very pleasant and always at our service. I liked the location where we could walk around the Porto area and still get to the Pont area by foot - about 15 mintues. Two distinct areas, easy walking location. Nice clean, friendly hotel with a decent breakfast. Our room was small but that is Europe! We did not spend much time there anyway.

A volcanic island off the coast of Naples, Ischia is a favorite tourist destination among Italians, Germans, British, and Americans. People flock here for the beaches and the spas, as well as the Mediterranean climate and food.
