this was our first trip to Montreal and had no clue about the city and its neighborhoods. Labelle suites was easy to find and was very clean and comfortable. Walkable to old city and just around the corner from Le Village and the Latin quarter. Staff was super friendly and informative, and check out was 12 noon, much needed after a night of partying! I would absolutely recommend this hotel!

"Nice small hotel"
This is a nice small hotel, conveniently located near Rue St. Denis, transit stops, shopping, and other conveniences. Old Montreal is within walking distance. Rooms are attractively furnished. The best feature is breakfast - a cute basket with yogurt, fruit, croissants, and muffins delivered to your door in the morning. You may eat at your leisure in your room, or take your basket downstairs to the small dining room and supplement it with cold cereal, toast, etc. We are late sleepers and appreciated having good coffee and breakfast in our room every morning.

"Convenience, not luxury."
The price is always fair for what you get. The suites are practical and tidy. Housekeeping shares elevators with guests, which can make for a slow journey if staying on higher floors. Breakfast is included, but offerings are not up to par with similar mid-range hotels. For example, aside from yogurt, there are no proteins available, such as boiled eggs or cheese. Fruit is all canned. Bagels, toasts, and pastries are average. Coffee is good. The ticket system used for breakfast is antiquated as nobody from the street is going to walk into the hotel, go into the basement dining hall, and start eating. Also, Patrons should not be scolded for wanting to take a cup of coffee back to their room. The main drawback is that the internet connectivity is very slow. I inquired and the clerk stated it is most slow on weekends when the hotel is full. She offered to "reset" the system, but to no avail. The actual solution is to replace the current technology with a system that can handle demand of today's customer. In sum, there are several low cost fixes that would greatly improve the hotel's rating above. I would highly encourage them to consider doing so.

Pocket Guide: Latin Quarter, Montreal Green/Sustainable Hotels

The Latin Quarter, an area bordering the University of Quebec and lower St-Denis Street, holds a youthful feel with students filling the area and is packed full of theatres, boutiques, cafés, and restaurants. Chapelle Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, designed by artist and architect Napoléon Bourassa, sits on Ste-Catherine Street.
