Just right!

Location: Just a couple blocks up for the sand dunes!
This was a perfect place for us to stay. We had friends staying in the campground just up the block. We were able to come and go from the hotel to the campground with ease. It was a nice little spot for a nice little amount of money. It wasn't fancy, but it was clean, comfortable and served its purpose for our trip.

Inn at Oceano, Ca.

Pros: Close to everything we wanted !!!
Cons: Didn't have any !!!
Location: It was close to everything we wanted and just a short ride to the main part of town.
We had a great time on the beach and enjoyed the room, the room was clean and comfortable. Good location with access to the beach and other sights along the water. Great Mexican resturant across the street, Juan's Old Cantina and local bus service comes by the front door that services all of Pismo Beach and surrounding area. We give it five stars !!! *****

Oceano Inn - A Hairy Experience!

Pros: My favorite thing about this hotel is that I left and I don't ever have to go back!
Cons: Everything!
Location: Ghetto! Adjacent to a liquor store....unless you like that sort of thing.
OMG! This was by far THE worst hotel & travel experience I have ever had in my forty three years of existence. The hotel's curbside appearance was ghetto! It looked like a weekly rental place with people hanging out over the second floor. It is adjacent to a liquor store & the cops passed by 3 times within the it took us to check in. We wanted to go some place else but it was Mother's Day weekend & almost mid-night so we didn't want to chance not finding another room. After we checked in, immediately we were hit by a stale smell. The carpets were stained and visibly filthy. My husband & I began to strip the beds, intending to apply our own linens but were stunned to find a filthy mattress cover that was covered in human hairs! DISGUSTING! We asked for a more cleanlier room. We & the owner went to check out a different room. The next room was even worse than the first. We showed the owner all of the hairs and filth but his response was, "Are you going to sleep on the mattress protector or on the sheet? It doesn't matter about this part because you just pull the sheet on top & you go to sleep." We asked for a refund which he promptly refused. My husband had to threaten to call the cops. He gave us a partial refund but when we wrote on the receipt that we were leaving because the place was filthy, the owner reached over the counter & tried to snatch the money out of my husband's hand! Short of the cops being called and bodily harm, we did get our money back. Advice: STAY AWAY!
