Wonderful and Relaxing StayPosted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: Setting - beautiful beach area
Location: We didn't do any excursions. Its about a 2h bus-ride from Montego Bay ... we just wanted to relax
We were at the RIU for 2 weddings Nov/Dec 2013. We booked an Oceanfront Junior Suite - it was on the adult only side of the building. Room was lovely, view incredible. Excellent snorkeling right off the beach - saw squid, puffer fish, snakes, rays, lots of fish. Played tennis each day (the courts were basically open the entire time). Food - great, lots of variety. Jerk chicken on the beach was great. There was plenty to do if you wanted to get involved and dance or just relax beach or poolside. Staff very friendly.

Jammin tripPosted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: The things we like about this resort are: beach, entertiment team, bartenders...spec people in the main bar like Nashenia, Steven & Kevon T
Cons: Quality of the food, some people at front desk and room safes needs upgrade to digital once. The best person at reception...Selina Lowe!
Location: We just enjoy the beach and nice evenings in the resort so we really didnt go out for these 5 days.
RIU-Ocho Rios is approx. one and a half hr away from the MBJ airport. The best and quickest transfer is by Clive`s Transportation Service. This hotel resort is huge and if you book Deluxe side of hotel be prepared for little bit longer walk to the major things like bars, restaurants coZ they are located on oposite side of the resort. This resort is builded in the horseshoe shape so if your rome is somwhere in the middle be prepared for little bit longer walk to the beach. This place is safe and you can find security guys even on the beach. Beach is really well mainted and there is always enoguh beach chairs. Towels are available only in the pool area with resort card. Delux rooms in Adults Only area are so comfy and clean. The only concern about rooms is....they dont restock the fridge during your stay more than once, so you might ask them to do so.

A review of Rui Ocho RiosPosted Nov 29, 2013
Cons: Buffet Lunch. Restaurants are average. Asian Restaurant is buffet style. Deserts are same. Small. No alarm clock or coffee maker in rooms.
Location: Ocho Rios

Nice hotelPosted Nov 23, 2013
Had a great time at RIU Ocho Rios. Staff was extremely friendly and nice. Room was clean and had beautiful view. We stayed in the adult only wing so it was nice and quiet and perfect for relaxing. Didn't like the food the first night (think it was Italian night) otherwise the food was great. Shows were good, nothing spectacular. Overall had a good time, would definitely stay there again.

Nice hotel if you don't like the nativesPosted Nov 22, 2013
Location: Too far to socialize with the natives. Only left the resort to go to a local plaza to buy some White Henny. Can only leave if a cab takes you.
Wonderful accomodations, but the nearest market is a 10 minute or more ride so you only deal with the hotel staff, cab driver and vendors if you stay here. Nice place to stay but I wish I had stayed at RUI in Montego Bay so I could walk to the gas station and Burger King and socialize with the natives.
