The last time I came I loved this place which is why I came back and brought my boyfriend. However this time the breakfast was bland, no drinks besides coffee the oj was watered down.. The room was nice but for the price I was defiantly not as impressed as the last time I was here.

Very disappointed in our stay... I paid for 3 nights and only stayed the one night. Our room was clean but the chips that were in our room as a snack were outdated by 5 months. I felt like I was staying in a strangers home! The front of the house was fine but Fredia's bedroom and her office (the garage) were messy and stuffed so full it was as if a horder lived in there. Breakfast was at 9:00 am and a no show by Fredia??? Wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

We enjoyed our stay at the Always Inn to the max. The owner, Freda, was as nice as could be. Her cooking is to die for. Her breakfast's will keep you going all day long and only the most freshest of foods were used. The Always Inn is just one short end of the block away from all downtown shops. The walk to the pier is probably less than a half mile and gives you a chance to walk off all that great food that Freda will try and stuff you with. The bedroom was fine, but who wants to hang out in the room when there is that great Pacific Ocean just down the street with walking trails and ocean views galore. We are going back in October to renew our friendship with Freda and enjoy that great San Clemente Pacific Ocean.

Great bed and breakfast, 10 minute walk to beachPosted Aug 21, 2013
Pros: The location was perfect. Very clean, we felt right at home.
Cons: If only we could have stayed longer.....
Location: Lots of great restaurants and boutique shopping. Close to the famous san clemente pier.
Wonderful place to stay! Right in the center of San Clemente and only a ten minute walk to the beach. Freda, the owner made us feel right at home. She cooked us a wonderful breakfast and provided us with snacks, sunscreen, beach towels, chairs and boogie boards for the day each day.

Always Inn in San Clemente CAPosted Aug 12, 2013
Expedia should de-list this hotel ...the owner was out of town and the only contact we had was a part time taxi driver who showed up at 4.45 pm to let us in ...breakfast was terrible and the kitchen was filthy with dirty dishes from past meals piled up in the sink. This reduced another guest to tears. Our advice is to stay away from the Always Inn. Waste of hard earned money!!!

Pros: Host, Food, Location, Eclectic Ambiance, jetted bath tub.
Cons: Bed / bedding a little worn, but very comfy and very clean. Ocean Dance room on noisy street side but added character to experience overall.
Location: One block off main pedestrian / shopping strip - excellent location! 1 rm on noisy street side but we imagine very quiet 2 rms on patio / fenced side.
You have to understand what you're getting to properly rate this B&B. First and foremost you get the host and her off the charts homemade cooking and genuine, heartfelt hospitality. She is a force of nature and an unassuming (and I'd guess generally unsung) hero in her San Clemente community. She not only cooks for you (breakfast is included in rate) she also cooks for and delivers to the elderly in her community, and she proffers arts and crafts for local craftspeople as well (think awesome soaps, bath salts, wind chimes, candle holders, etc). You also get Indy 500, her sweet little chihuahua lab mix who, if you sneak in a little late like we did the first night, greets you from down the hallway with a not-so-menacing bark, but then quickly warms up with tail wagging after you pass her initial once over...the B&B is located one block off the main pedestrian street with tons of restaurants, bars and shopping right there for the walking. You don't get stuffy, pretentious wannabe ambiance; you get real, eclectic, well-travelled, familial ambiance. You don't get pristine amenities with a perfect everything down to the finest detail experience; you get a warm, welcoming, spice-filled, homemade, everything is not perfect but is absolutely lovely experience. Bed / bedding was a little worn but so comfy, and everything was very clean. This is for the down to earth crowd who want a nice place to stay with a friendly, wonderful host, great conversation and delicious homemade cooking.

I thought Bed and Breakfast, meant bed and breakfast. We received breakfast on Sunday, but received fruit the next two days.

Fun, fun, fun!!Posted Feb 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had such a great time discovering this cute little town and it's surrounding area. The stores are darling and the restaurants are charming. The Always Inn was a very homey place to stay with every thing we needed. There are delicious cookies and snacks, a cozy room with a big pillowy bed and a bath with all the necessary toiletries - you'll even find beach towels and sunscreen for hot days. We went on a misty weekend, but the coast was still breath-taking! Freda, the inn keeper is a fantastic cook (the quiche was amazing!) & she's so warm and helpful you'll leave all your cares behind and just have fun!
