Nice hotel for the price.

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Rooms were big and internet worked well.
Location: Couldn't see much going on here but not to far from Disney or La.
Hotel was everything it said it was, handy enough place to stop over at.

great stay great location

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: room could have been cleaner
we have stayed at this location dozens of times. its probably the best value around. you can walk most anywhere you want to go, and there are lots of nearby restaurants. be sure to check kayak first for rates, since this one does not honor their low-price guarantee, at least not without a fight.

I booked a 3 night stay with them. Because I'm limited on characters, I will describe my stay in bullet points: -Shower curtain was beyond gross. -Walls thin. -Fridge was broken, but I didn't mind (wasn't using it). Told management so I wouldn't be charged. -Overly insistent on fixing fridge, even though I said it was ok. -Inconvenienced me on more than one occasion trying to fix the fridge that I was ok with. Almost caused me bodily harm (they forgot to clean up water from replacement fridge, and I slipped on it). -Put me in a room that was meant for more than one person (I was alone). Resulted in them trying to move me to another room. -Told me to be ready to switch rooms in the morning, but new room was STILL OCCUPIED. Had to wait until guest checked out AND until the room was cleaned. -I asked for compensation and was told, "you're moving next door, there is no inconvenience." -Had to complain to corporate before they refunded me for my last night. AVOID AT ALL COST!!

Noisy near freeway.

Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: I liked the view from my rear view mirror as I left the hotel The location is good, except for the noise.
Cons: Tear it down and build a well insulated motel. Give guests shampoo, lotion, an iron and an ironing board. Put coffee in the rooms.
Location: There is a Starbucks about 3 blocks away to buy coffee. There is a Ralphs grocery store about a block away to buy shampoo, lotion and ear plugs.
Very noisy and next to major freeway. It needs double pane windows to insulate the noise. I would never stay there again. Very cheap management, no lotion, one small shampoo container. No iron or ironing board. I wore wrinkled clothes to a party.. No free coffee . Room has not been updated since Eisenhower was US President.

I am very sorry that your stay at America's Best Value Inn in San Clemente, CA. was not satisfactory. We cater to guests from all over the world with individual needs and special expectations and our goal is to provide a pleasant stay for all. As such, this is why we maintain a full refund policy to all guests within the first fifteen minutes of check-in for unused rooms. In this case however, no refund was requested, why stay in a room that you are not happy with.

Just the basics

Posted Jul 3, 2014
First, the name of the motel on all signage is Budget Lodge, so the name is not as listed on Expedia: America's Best Value Inn San Clemente Beach. It is not near the beach. The property is clean, but the room furnishings are very basic - not comfortable. The bed was very hard. Hard pillows, too. The floors are linoleum. There was a mini-refrigerator and a microwave oven. The wi-fi worked well. The neighbors were noisy and the Interstate 5 freeway noise was barely reduced by the thin window panes and curtains. There was coffee offered, but no breakfast. Next time I'll pay $10-$15 more to stay at a nicer motel.

Great price!

Pros: Great location and was very clean.
Cons: Lights did not work in the bathroom and the bed was hard.
Location: Mexican restaurant across the street was so good! Breakfast places all around. I would totally stay again.
The bed was a little hard and the lights did not work in the bathroom but for the price it worked for me. Very clean.

A Saturday Night at the Beach

Posted May 27, 2014
Pros: It is being renovated but the rooms are great. It is actually quieter then older hotel where you can hear your neighbor talking
Cons: Need more parking but due to space not possible
Location: It is near Downtown San Clemente and the Pier. Also 1/2 way between LA and San Diego
A nice little find. Have stayed just down the street and paid much more and you could hear all the noises of the area. It is being renovated but there is a sign about times to expect the contractor noises. The new bed is firm. Unusual that there is only one TV (in the bedroom) but none in living room. The location is near the freeway, downtown San Clemente and its restaurants.
