Not a good stayPosted Sep 8, 2014
Cons: New water heaters and A/C units
Check in Staff was ok. Breakfast area was way too small, an after thought. A/C controls went from 59 degrees to 70 degrees with nothing inbetween, too cold or too warm. Morning shower was way to cold, just a little warm water. Very noisy room, too close to the freeway. Room was very small and bed was not the best.

Pretty good for the moneyPosted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The price
Cons: You get what you pay for. For the price, it was fine.
Location: The location was a little scary for us. We walked to the trolley station so we could get to the convention center. It was a little scary to walk.
This was a pretty good stay for the rate. It by far isn't the nicest hotel, but it was the least expensive we could find when everywhere else was booked because of ComicCon. The free continental breakfast was nice and plenty to choose from. They offered free WiFi, which was really nice. Most expensive hotels charge $10-$14 a day for internet, so we were pleasantly surprised to get the service for free. We let the front desk know our mini-fridge stopped working, and by the time we returned that evening, they had replaced it with a working one.

Nice stayPosted Jul 29, 2014
Except for rude upstairs neighbors, we had a nice stay. The hotel was close enough to Nerd HQ to make it worth going.

Only is desperatePosted Jul 28, 2014
Pros: Close to trolley station. Good breakfast.
Over priced. Fridge leaked all over the floor. Water pressure just a trickle. Pillows smelt of cigarettes. TV remote not working properly. Breakfast was ok.

Good location, decent pricePosted Jul 5, 2014
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Neighborhood and building safety could be improved.
Location: The San Diego Zoo and Coronado Beach were both a very short drive away.
Stayed here for one night. It's right by the freeway, so getting to the beach and the San Diego Zoo was pretty fast, less than 10-15 minutes. Rooms were small, but clean. Not a great neighborhood at all, and I saw multiple prostitutes in the area. But there's only one entrance to the parking lot area, so I'm sure the staff monitors that. Breakfast in the morning was good. Coffee, tea, juice, cereal, waffles, pastries, toast, and hard-boiled eggs. Staff was okay. Nothing extraordinary, but not bad, either.

Nothing special, nice room for the moneyPosted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Stayed for 4 days, while visiting some family members in San Diego, the room is nothing special but it was 10mins to my family members house and the room was clean, good room for the money, didn't have any problems, great little room for people on a budget.

just what we were looking forPosted Apr 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
We needed a room close to the Naval Base. The Howard Johnson Express provided the amenities that were needed. The room was clean and we were acatually able to check in early. We would stay here again.
