I did not have a good experience here. We arrived at 10:00 pm at night and no one was in the office to check us in. Instead, there was a note on the office door with my name telling me which room was left open/unlocked for me. This was very unsettling and my boyfriend did a sweep of the room before we brought our stuff in since anyone could have been in there. It was also dirty and had cobwebs in the rafters and mildew in the shower. There was also water all over the kitchen floor due to a leak in the sink. The decor clearly hadn't been updated since the 70s and it smelled faintly like a thrift store. When I went to check out the following day, no one was in the office again. I pressed the page button 3 times and could hear people laughing and joking around behind a door marked "Private." Finally, a very unfriendly person came out and checked me out of the room. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pretty Much A Dump

Posted Apr 29, 2014
Cons: Bring in the bulldozers.
Location: Off in the dust. A mile from civilization.
This hotel is aging, and not gracefully. These are shabby, Spartan accommodations. No phone in the room, so no wake-up calls. The audio on the TV sounded disembodied. Didn't want to touch the kitchen. Two nights was a long stay.

Pleased with the kitchen and bedroom.Close to the

Pros: Kithchenb, bedroom, and location.
Cons: New carpet and a firmer bed.
Location: Close to Borrego Springs with its golf, tennis, restaurants and shopping.
We were pleasantly surprised by the room and its facilities. Having a well equipped kitchen was a plus. We will stay there again.

Old-Style but Clean and Quiet

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Clean, quiet, good TV
Cons: Breakfast, price (value vs. competition)
Location: State park visitor center and trails to oasis to west. Sand dunes to the east. Stark desert scenery. Good airport.
This is an old-style (fifties-sixties) one-story motel that has been kept up pretty well. Clean room with well-maintained features, but not plush or with the latest in amenities (except large LCD TV). Barely heard neighboring room, just once in early evening - otherwise very quiet stay. Each room has a couple of chairs on an open patio area. Didn't use, but looks like a nice pool. Free breakfast was in a large room, but was otherwise pretty basic and uninspiring. All-in-all, I would expect lower rates since there are other very-well appointed (cushy large rooms, golf, tennis, restaurants, etc.) resorts nearby. However, I'd happily stay here again if the availability of other good-value motels in town are full.

Satisfactory

Posted Feb 1, 2014
Pros: Relatively inexpensive. Sufficiently comfortable.
Cons: Breakfast could be kicked up a notch. Hard boiled eggs without salt and pepper not too tasty. Had two doub le beds for 2 people and bags. Pretty tight
Location: ANZA BORREGO. Don't need to mention anything else.
Check-in easy. Nice lady at the desk fixed the Expedia screw-up. Place is old, but has a lock on the lower price end in Borrego Springs. Showers have plenty of pressure, so be careful with any tender parts. Easy coming and going. Easy to find. Be sure and check the radio and make sure it, or the alarm, does not go off at midnight.

Run Down

Posted Dec 16, 2013
Pros: Nothing!!!
Cons: A complete remodeling and change of furniture.
Location: The motel is in the middle of nowhere and the closest restaurant and store is about one mile away.
This motel is in the middle of nowhere, about 1 mile from the center of town. The room was big, but everything inside was old and outdated. The bed sheet was stained and we had to call the front desk to change it, but the new bed sheet was also stained and worn out. We didn't make too much fuss about it, because we stayed only one night. Two nights would have been unbearable.

Nice hotel, slightly dated but undergoing update

Posted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: Spacious room with kitchenette, made welcome on registration in a lovely small town
Cons: Needs updating
Location: Great location for anza borrego national park with lots to see and do
Made very welcome in nice hotel with good facilities. It was being updated while we were there but it had character and we would have no hesitation in stopping there again.
