Disappointed

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Front desk staff was welcoming and warm.
Cons: The rusty fire extinguisher and small breakfast area.
Location: Hearst Castle.
Bed substandard, dusty, small uncomfortable pillows and a broken security lock on our rooms door. Not up to the standard of a true quality hotel.

Our stay

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Pros: Nothing
The ice machine was not in our building. Had to go downstairs and through parking lot to get ice. The breakfast room was much to small. Not enough tables for guests. Our room was very stuffy even with the sliding glass door open. There was no air conditioning in room. The bed pillows were only half the size of normal pillows. The coffee maker in our room only had one coffee cup. I probably will not stay at any Quality Inn again.

Hearst Castle visit, night stay over

Posted Jun 29, 2014
Pros: Rooms were clean and well prepared, location is good.
Cons: Pay attention to the things guests request at time of booking.
Location: Hearst Castle is nearby and the beaches of San Simeon.
The Hotel is decent, but going to the rooms on second floor is inconvenient with no elevator (esp. if u have luggage or small children). I requested a room on first floor, but the request was ignored even though there were rooms available. Breakfast is just basic but decent. Overall a decent affordable lace to stay near Hearst Castle but do not expecta lot.

Disappointing.

Posted May 4, 2014
Pros: Convenient location for Hearst Castle.
Stayed for two nights. Location is convenient for Hearst Castle and for viewing elephant seals. Hotel itself was disappointing. Entire hotel had an overwhelming smell of powder (used for cleaning and/or deodorizing?) in the hallways and in the rooms. Yuck. Also rooms are on second floor and there is no elevator so if you have big heavy luggage you're out of luck. Lack of security too...no key or ID needed to enter hotel from rear parking lot. Otherwise room was fairly clean. Continental breakfast was fair...muffins, toast, cereal, boiled eggs and fruit along with waffles. The single person staff was friendly enough; she did all front desk duty and breakfast duty while we were there. Also Internet was not working the entire time we stayed. Would not stay there again.

Close to beach.

Pros: Clean, comfortable and location is great.
Cons: Hot breakfast would be great [scrambled eggs, sausage, etc.]. I think people would be willing to pay a bit more if this was offered.
Location: Cambria, Morro Bay, beaches, Hearst Castle.
Good place to stay for an affordable price. Nice pool area with whirlpool spa. Very comfortable beds with plenty of towels and linens. Clean and the staff was very nice. The restaurant on site had a very nice menu. The breakfast is just pastry and cereal but at this price, it's acceptable.

Nice but slow wifi and bad breakfast

Posted Feb 17, 2014
Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast area was extremely small. There were only about 4 tables, so most people either stood or took food back to their rooms. A group of 8 or so arrived, and the room was so small you could hardly move. The wifi was very slow and disconnected frequently. Besides the breakfast and wifi, everything was nice. The room was in good shape and there was enough space.

It was nice and close to the beach.

Pros: Location was pretty good.
Cons: read my comments.
The hotel was okay. I think it's strange that the security doors upstairs don't lock. Also, after taking a shower, the water would not drain. Not at all. Now, you can't tell me they didn't know about this. There is no way it drained, in a timely manner, after the cleaning crew cleaned it. I waited 50 minutes for the water to recede enough for me to take a shower after my husband. This needs to be fixed right away! The heater (which was really old) rattled so loud, we had to turn it off so we could sleep.

OK for an Overnight Stay while traveling.

Posted Jan 8, 2014
Hotel was clean, staff friendly. The breakfast area nice, and well stocked. Whatever you do ....DO NOT EAT at the Mexican restaurant across the street, worst food that I've ever eaten and I told them so (they did not care).
