Comfortable, good location, good restaurantPosted Apr 23, 2015
Turks and Caicos is beautiful, and the Alexandra is a nice hotel. Rooms were spacious, clean, well laid out (we had a one bedroom suite and paid a bit more for a higher floor so we had a nice view of the ocean despite not being in an ocean front room). The pool is really nice and the grounds are pretty and well maintained, with plenty of lounge chairs (never had to fight for a chair). The reason I gave only 4 starts is the resort lists having non-motorized water sport equipment available but they basically have no snorkel equipment. We tried multiple times to get masks/snorkels and they were always "out." Even when we arrived at 8am one morning there was only one mask and 3 snorkels available (plus a couple of old sad pairs of goggles). There's beautiful snorkeling to be done right down the beach and it was disappointing not to be able to get to do it (our family of four took turns with the single mask we were able to get). So I would say overall a really nice hotel, but spend a few hundred dollars and invest in some snorkels! Have people sign them out and make sure they return them or pay if they don't return them so that there are enough for people to use! Otherwise we had a great time and by the way the restaurant there, Mango Reef, is the best within walking distance (we tried Hemingways and Somewhere Cafe, both nearby on the beach, but Mango Reef has the best food).

Right in the middle of Grace Bay, Highly RecommendPosted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Clean, great rooms with great, stocked kitchenette.
Cons: Restaurant Options, after staying a week, you wish there were a few more options on where to eat other than the same thing almost everyday.
Location: Bight reef is a short walk away for GREAT snorkeling.
We loved our stay at the Alexandria. Very attentive, friendly staff, we loved the Mango Reef Hotel and Dream Caicos snorkel tour that are both right at the hotel. Very centrally located in Grace Bay, so many good walking options and on the most beautiful beach in the Carribean! Highly Recommended!

Nice hotel close to the beach.Posted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: As mentioned above, I pretty much liked everything. I can not think of one single thing that I did not like.
Cons: Nothing could be improved unless you made it adults only but that is me just being selfish.
Location: The hotel was really close to the downtown where one could walk to all of the shopping and restaurants. I ran there but riding a bike would take 5 min
The entire staff was so friendly and helpful plus there were many perks to staying here like free bicycling, kayaks, etc. The beach staff took great care of the guests on the beach while another person made sure there was entertainment almost every night. Karaoke was my favorite because the punch helped us gather the courage. The restaurant at the hotel had romantic dinners on the beach and the food was spectacular. I did not want to leave. We were also able to use the free shuttle to go to the 2 sister properties where we can make reservations to eat dinner at Fire and Ice.

The island is beyond beautifulPosted Apr 19, 2015
Pros: All the rooms have balconies which are a great place to relax after a day of sun. Everything was clean and well taken care of
Cons: There was plenty of snorkel equipment, and several kayaks and paddle boards. This resort does not have any Hobiecat sailboats which would be nice.
Location: There is lots of dining options within walking distance on the beach along with a good restaurant on premise.
Our Island view room with balcony had a beautiful partial view of the ocean. Everyone is very friendly and there was always towels and chairs at the pool or on the beach.

Turks and Caicos is lovely.Posted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Grace bay views, kitchen.
Cons: I did not like maid service twice a day.
Location: Free bikes, snorkeling at coral gardens, restaurants/good food, beach pick up for activities, nice chairs and umbrellas, town, tennis, ping pong YAY!
This is our second time staying at Alexandra. It is located next to the Beaches resort, so keep that in mind. You may not want to see people walking beach, etc. We had friends at Beaches, so it was super for us. All the rooms at the Alexandra show a view of Grace Bay. This is awesome! The rooms are very crisp and have an open air feel. The staff is very nice and they are willing to help. Al will set up all activities; dives, horse riding, dinner, whatever you want. You must take advantage of this because you will want to try to fit in as many activities as you can. It is so fun there. The conch/snorkel is a must for tween age kids. The restaurant on site is delicious, Mango Reef. You are in walking distance to many other good resort restaurants too. It is very safe there, so you do not need a taxi, unless you are going far away. You can also use their bikes, for free, to ride to town. There is an IGA grocery store there as well. Have a great vacation on TCI!

Great room with tons of spacePosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Everything! The beach front restaurant served us a wonderful meal with an amazing view!
Location: Next to other hotels and right on the beach. Ten minute drive to the airport and you go right past the IGA (grocery store) so you can stock up.
The room was perfect... it even had a full kitchen. The balcony was huge with an amazing view of the pool and the beach.

overall good experience. 1st tripPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: place was clean, rooms plenty big enough, staff helpful if you request something, most of the activities we wanted to do close by. housekeeping great.
Cons: staff didn't really seem all that concerned with our well being, but responsive if we chased them down. could've warned us about rapacious cabbies.
Location: snorkeling a bight beach in front of coral gardens was great. went every day, sometimes 2x. 15 minute walk.
wanted good beach and proximity to reefs for snorkeling. hotel room was great. not on the beach but views were fine. closest reef was bight about a 15, 20 minute walk. beach at the hotel was everything they advertised. staff was ok. everything was clean. pretty expensive trip for a 1st time. learned how to cut corners the next time. great for families. watch out for cabbies.

Very accommodating on Grace BayPosted Apr 10, 2015
Sometimes a bad situation can be turned into a good one. We arrived a day late because of high winds and a missed connection in Miami. The hotel refunded our missed night which was nice since it was prepaid. When we arrived I asked for an upgrade because of our long journey. They Gave us an oceanfront room with a nice view. We are not complainers but our first night was noisey because of a rattling a/c vent. In the morning the connecting room had small children and where very loud at 7:00am. We called the front desk and explained the situation. They said to back after lunch. After lunch they showed us our new room. One bedroom 1 1/2 baths LR, DR, Large Kitchen huge master bedroom and a top floor ocean front view. wow How cool was that. Nice staff great beach. Great food.
