Centrally Located

Great room, even though we weren’t there much. Perfect location for hitting both sides of the strip. Not as focused on being a casino as some of the others, but the hotties dancing in the pleasure pit were a nice distraction.

Peepshow, but not in a good way...

Planet Hollywood has a beautiful hotel in Vegas, located in a great spot on the strip and close to major "must sees." The Miracle Mile shops are well balanced and the casino offers whatever you might want to play (but a map of how to navigate it would help). The pool is only open from 10-5, which was odd, though. The staff of PH leaves much to be desired. The day before we arrived I confirmed our king bed, non-smoking room. When we checked in we were given a "smoking optional" room and told that that was all we had to choose from, no non-smoking rooms available. We had the added bonus of someone’s dirty clothes and underwear being left in the room. We were promised a non-smoking room the next day, but we had to do the work of reminding them and come down and check-out, check back in, etc. This was supposed to be done by 11 the next day. At 3:30 the next day, we finally got our room. Room cleaning was iffy and in our 5 days at PH, we only saw the maid 3 times. Not a big deal, but PH requires you to pay a "resort fee" that covers cleaning and restocking of your "free water." Annoying to pay it and not get it. Hotel desk staff seemed clueless and slow. Every question we had was met with blank stares, a check with the manager or just a curt yes or no. It was only by calling Starwood that we were able to get results from the hotel. And for God’s sake, tone down the advertising for Peepshow. It’s everywhere. Casino tables, elevator doors, room keys, a TV remote cozy! We get it.

Las Vegas has a poorly advertised Monorail. It’s not wonderfully convenient, but for far less than a taxi you can ride from MGM at the bottom of the Strip all the way out to the Sahara. Stops are at major hotels (MGM, Ballys, Hilton, etc.) and usually in close proximity to what you want to see.

I will be back

As a frequent Las Vegas visitor it takes a little extra to wow me. The Hollywood Hip package at Planet Hollywood delivered. Everything from the check in experience to the chamber maid service was first rate. Great location on the strip. In past trips to Las Vegas I have stayed at MGM Grand, New York New York, Luxor and Treasure Island to name a few, but Planet Hollywood instantly became my new go to Hotel on the strip.

Ok to stay at but if you want the Vegas WOW factor stay at higher end hotels

They bring you into the hotel from the back, not a good first impression. When you think of Vegas, you think of glitz and glamour, the lobby of this hotel is not what I would call glamorous. With the entry in the back, I was confused on how to get to the strip. After wondering around in the back of the hotel, we found our way to the front of the hotel and the strip. We visited a few other hotels and we where greatly impressed. Next time, I would spend a few more dollars to get the "WOW" factor of Vegas.

We saw the "V" show - this is a verity show. very funny I would recoment it. We also saw the show called Le Reve at the Wynn hotel. Very impressive to see - everyone told us to see the "O" show. But our concers told us that he liked this show better and it is cheaper. A plus plus in my book.

We Plan To Stay Here Again

Our view wasn’t the best, actually we did not have a view, it was a view of the air or ventilation unit. So that was the only negative. The first night, in the morning, for some reason the daily maid service did not show up, but after a quick call to the front desk, they came up and cleaned the room. Overall it was a great experience, the food was ok, nothing fancy, the free bottle of vodka was great that they gave us and the location couldn’t be beat. Great place to stay and especially they are building up another tower next to the current hotel.

Happy with our stay

We checked in later in the evening and thus were put in a smoking room (not what we specifically requested). The beds were really comfortable but you could tell by the layout of room that it wasn’t designed for two double beds. There were also signs of wear-and-tear that we didnt notice in our friends rooms in the North tower. However, these were small inconveniences and really didnt overly affect our stay. We stayed during the ’drinks on us’ promotion and got a large bottle of vodka every day of our three day stay (great!). The hotel is perfectly positioned on the strip for sightseeing and is attached to a large shopping center. The concierge is amazing and got our names on lots of nightclub doors which meant we avoided the massive lines and cover charges! I would recommend this hotel, just try and get a non-smoking room!

A couple of issues

The staff was great and so was the price and the atmosphere for me personally. My issue was with the rooms. I was changed to 4 different rooms before I found one that did not have any issues. The staff however, was gracious and understanding and in the end upgraded me to a really nice suite. I can’t say I’d go back, but it wasn’t horrible.

Poker players stay and play elsewhere

We upgraded our room (30% more) as we have done many times in the past in Las Vegas (we’ve been going 1-2 times a year for ten years). At Planet Hollywood, it was not worth it. Other than a second sink and extra square footage, there were no additional amenities. The bathroom was large, as noted on their website, but the tub and shower seemed to be from a Motel 6. I had to fix the shower door to get it to close, and the shower spray was partially clogged. Just low quality and a lack of maintenance. The service everywhere was slow, but pleasant. As for the casino, the poker room is horrible and poorly managed. (I’ve played at a dozen poker rooms in Vegas). I had concerns about the way three local players sat next to each other, and seemed to be playing together against the “tourists.” In one 6 hour session, they seldom played against each other, and when they did they checked it down. The “local” on the left always raised pre-flop but only if one of the first two did not. The dealers did not stop the repeated derogatory comments of tourists by the locals. The dealers seemed to work for the locals. At one point, a local player stepped 10 feet away to have a smoke in the middle of the hand. At the show down, the player directed the dealer to turnover his cards. I was stunned. But, do go to the restaurants, Koi is incredible, Yolos Mexican Grill is very nice (get the pork chop). Great sandwiches at the Planet Dailies. But, stay and play elsewhere

The Koi restaurant in the Planet Hollywood is fabulous. The waiter was very good and gave us confidence to let him choose our dinner and sake. If you go be sure to get reservations at a table in the dinning room which over looks the Strip. The next night, we stopped at the Koi bar for a nightcap, and our waiter happen to see us at the bar and came over. Not only did he remember us, he remembered the sake we ordered. Join the A List players club and get free drink coupons for Koi ($15 value).

Cold In Vegas

My wife and I had a great time at Planet Hollywood, the only drawback was the constent barrage of people wanting to either give you something, or worst yet the TIME SHARE FOR THEIR WESTGATE TOWERS (had a verrrrry bad experience). When you spend over 2 hours in this presentation, they keep sending over someone else to harrass you into buying. We thought we were being nice until the last guy (we were told that we would get our deposit back and gift with this guy) he started all over again then started harrassing my wife. I confronted him on this, then he told me that HE WAS AFFENDED by my verbal actions. He then stomped off and got his manager (right, I think it was a secretary) and they rudely rushed us right on out, NOT LISTENING TO OUR COMPLAINT. Our fault for being trapped into recieving a gift. Ha! It wasn’t worth it. And it was the coldest it has been in Vegas for 13 years, Ha. 59 during the day, and 30 to 50 mile per hr winds, not their fault.

Will stay again when in Vegas

Great place to stay at. Well situated on the strip, staff helpful and the room was excellent. Had a view of Bellagio fountains and bed was most comfy.

If looking under 30 and not a US citizen carry a photocopy of your passport with you on the strip as drivers license alone is not enough ID to purchase alcohol at some places.

Good, but not great...

Pros- Bathroom was spacious and clean. Hotel has great Location on the Strip with good shopping and eating options. We were given a book of coupon’s and discounts that we used during our stay. Biggest perk was the "Enjoy a bottle on us" promotion which gives you a free bottle of good booze each night of your stay. Cons - Our room was a little dank and dimly lit. Bottom line is if you don’t plan to spend much time in your room this is a great place at a great price. If you want more relaxation, I would suggest staying at a higher rated hotel, like Bellagio or Wynn. Word of caution: The property is building a residential tower across the lot and are currently trying to get people to attend a "time share" like seminar. So just watch out for that.

Las Vegas’ Best Hotel

My recent stay @ Planet Hollywood was Oct. 20th-23rd. I had a very joyous and pleasant stay there. Upon arrival, I informed the desk clerk that my husband and I were visiting on our 3rd yr anniversary. That this was his 1st visit to Vegas. He gave us the "hook-up’ on the 31st floor with an extremely beautiful view of the strip. At night after partying, I would just sit there in the window and watch the water dance and the beautiful lights all night. I would definitely visit PH again for future stays. However, please be mindful of the internet chrg, that I was billed for, but did not request or use. Other then that, our stay @ PH was much needed and wonderful.

I definitely recommend a (2) day (for the price of one) ticket to ride the topless tour bus. You can get on and off the bus where-ever you like and reboard the bus at your convenience. The guide personnel also gives you education and the history of many of the local hotels and casinos. Its a good way to save on transportation, as my husband and I rented a car for a day which stayed parked in the hotel parking lot.

not impressed

room was dim and dark, not enough lighting. little to no drawers for clothes. no closet to speak of. very little area to hang shirts and pants. large pieces of furniture in the room that served no purpose. for appearance sake only. took up space in the room and did nothing for me. it was as if they did not want you to spend any time in the room and if you did they made it uncomfortable. location of the hotel was fine, next to paris and mgm. restaurants were god to eat at even for quick meals. casino was big enough and they even had a pleasure pit where at night the dealers were all scantily clothed and had 2 pole dancers at either end of the gaming tables. overall it was ok but i was not happy with the room set up. when i called to be moved to a room with more drawers, closets and lit better, i was told they are all the same. i made them bring me a clothes rack to hang my stuff.

Not Impressed

We found that upon check in, the front desk was not very friendly or informative. The entire check-in process involved a "hello" and then "here you go", giving us our room key. We also found that the hallways on the room floors always had dirty trays from room service from the night before... often remaining in the hallways until evening of the next day. The room itself was clean and comfortable and a good size. Unfortunately, outside of the room, our stay was not the most enjoyable experience.

Some issues, but overall good.

First the good. The staff was courteous and quite helpful at the Front Desk and all areas of the hotel. The bed and sitting chairs are quite comfortable, though I can say the same for the desk chair. That and the desk its self was quite small. The air conditioner got the room quite cold quite fast and lighting is mostly adequate, though full control from the entry switches would have been nice. Though the hotel and the room isn’t without its faults. The biggest complaint, outside of the bathroom there is one accessible power outlet (unless you start unplugging lamps). With the proliferation of personal electronics, this is just unacceptable. Within the bathroom the ventilation is quite poor as well, with there being no exhaust fan. If the bathroom doors are left open it isn’t as much of a problem, but if the doors are closed the condensation build up from a hot shower gets to be too much. As well, the shower head seemed original and poorly maintained, so the stream wasn’t as constant or smooth as it should be, plus a detachable shower head would make a nice and relatively inexpensive upgrade. Also, I could hear the shower and the toilet in the room above me. Speaking of poor insulation, for the most part it is good, noise is kept to a minimum, except for the two doors that allow two neighboring rooms to be connected together. These were actually quite thing and seemed to have no seal around them. So, conversations of the next door neighbors could be heard clearly.
