OK , clean, tidy and correct, but no more or less

room is clean and tidy and OK by NY standards hotel amenities are exactly as paid for as well however there are definitely no luxuries or comforts beyond these bare essentials altogether, OK for business and good location, but not for couples looking for a little bit extra luxury or being spoiled.

Big rooms for a good price

My biggest peeve about New York hotels is the size of the hotel rooms. Novotel has large rooms by New York Standards. The hotel is well located and quite nice. Service was good. I definitely plan to stay there on my next visit.

Fantastic location.

Loved having cocktails on the terrace overlooking Times Square. The Times Square view from my room was worth the extra cost. People were very helpful and courteous. Especially appreciated the storate of luggage before check in and after check out.

Close to lots of great pubs, inexpensive dining options, Central Park, shopping, theaters, et al.

Returning later this month. Close to the theatre district action, but rooms are quiet and comfortable.

If you plan on watching television, look for another hotel. The menu on the remote control is very slow to respond and cumbersome to navigate. Couldn’t even cut to the chase by punching in the desired channel number.

Absolutely Fabulous

Since I lived in nyc many years ago, Novotel had always been my favorite hotel. It was such a treat to come back to nyc & stay there. Let me tell you...the staff was extremely friendly & courteous, the hotel is renovated & looks beautiful, my room was so clean, spacious & cozy (the bed was so comfy). The soft drinks & snacks in the fridge are very pricy so its best to purchase at grocery stores near by. The hotel location is the best...close to everything you would want to see & in walking distance to Central Park which my son & I loved. My flight left very early in the morning & Pete(gentleman at the front door) was so helpful. He assisted me with my luggage & grabbed me a taxi. I had a sleeping child so this was such a blessing! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay & would book Novotel again in a New York minute!!

This hotel is family friendly. I liked the quality of the guests at Novotel.....very classy & friendly people from all over the world!

Very nice hotel

I love this hotel, the location is great and the price is actually very good for its location. It is my second time in NYC and my second time on Novotel; if I go back to NYC I plan on stay at the same hotel again. However, there were a few things that made my experience not perfect. My TV remote didn’t work consistently; maybe new batteries were needed. I was unable to connect to the internet using my wireless laptop. And finally, despite being on NY city where I should assume that everything is expensive... I don’t think the hotel should charge me $1.00 per bag in order to watch them. I arrived early before check in and I left my luggage at the hotel so I could enjoy the city. I didn’t get charged. However, I checkout early in the morning but my flight didn’t leave until 7 PM. I wanted to leave my luggage at the hotel and I was charged $1.00 per bag. I know it is not much, but I felt almost like you didn’t care about taking good care of me anymore after my checkout. It was almost like, you only take good care of me when I’m a guess after that NO.

This is a wonderful hotel: great location, clean, modern feeling. It’s right off of Times Square. We’ve stayed there on our last 3 trips to NYC, and it’s where we’ll stay on our next visit.

The hotel staff couldn’t have been nicer and more helpful. Our room was perfect every day. The lady who cleaned it was as sweet as she could be. I would love to come back....

Not good for the money

Our beds were the pits for what we paid for our room. The rooms need redoing, furniture is old, walls scratched up, bathroom was old, mattresses on the bed look like they have been there since 1970. Wait staff in the bar area were not attentive to customers.

Excellent location and nice view of the river

We had not been to NYC in a long time and felt this hotel was perfect. It was in a wonderful location, the room had a king bed, desk and clean bathroom. We were able to get to many sights, theater, shopping and many restauants some by just walking and others with easy access to the subway system. There were 3 employees at the desk so check in and check are were done quickly.

Would recommend this hotel

Novotel’s location is excellent. Right in Times Square and close to Central Park. The room we had was small and outdated, but clean. We weren’t in the room much so it didn’t matter. The hotel restaurant was wonderful with an awesome view of Times Square. The bar was also very nice. There is also a patio outside of the restaurant/bar area on the 7th floor, a nice place for a drink.

Great location

Hotel location, staff, restaurant, and bar were all great. The room was a little dated - it could have been spruced up with new carpets, drapes & bedspreads...but it was a good size and very comfortable. Safe and secure if traveling alone. I would stay again. Price was good for NYC.

Fantastic location!

We had a wonderful experience at Novotel. The people at the front desk were very polite and personable. The location can’t be beat and the rooms are spotlessly clean. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Great location and room size!!

The Novotel had a nice lobby & a great staff at the desk. The concierge was willing to give info but not willing to help book anything... they just sent us to the business center. We had a nice dinner with a great view at the hotel but the service at lunch was terrible. The room was a good size. Great Location.. within walking distance of Times Square, Rockefeller Center, 5th ave, shows, etc. We would absolutely go back to this hotel!

Our group of 5 ranged from 14-83. We enjoyed the restaurant across the street called Ellen’s Stardust Diner. The waiters/waitresses sing and dance while they serve. It was a lot of fun.

The absolute BEST location!

This hotel was convenient to Times Square and in close walking distance to the transit and tourist buses. The concierge was helpful with suggestions on places to visit and eat. The staff was prompt with extra towels and pillows! The room service was excellent! Hope to visit again soon!

Traveler's tip

Pick up passes for prepaid sightseeing on the day they are to begin. Do not go the day before, because the day you purchase begins your ticket clock? Get a map! Use the hop on and hop off tourist bus! Great fun and comfortable!

We checked in a little later than we had anticipated but that only worked in our favor since we got a great view of times Square. Very pleasant staff and the room was perfect for us. We will definately go back.

Good location but..........

We stayed at this hotel during a weekend that we were attending a celebration. We paid for the complete stay thru Expedia and it included the breakfast buffett for two days. The first morning we went and eat our breakfast. Afterwards, the server surprisingly brought us a check for $95.00 for the four of us. I told him that we already paid for this and he replied:"nop you are not in the list" very snobby! They make me sign the check and I have to bring all my paperwork to the lobby. They told me that it will be fixed but at check out the clerk said"I see that you had a breakfast" and I had to go over it all over again. After the clerk and some other employee argued in front of me in French (which unfortunately I don’t speak)he said that everything was alright and we were all set. Moral of the story... It has a great location, it is a nice hotel but if you are hungry go to the McDonald’s around the corner. The staff is somewhat snobby but the location can’t be beat.

Good Location

Love the location of the hotel. It is right at (a few blocks from) time square. We stayed in a double bed room and it’s not small at all. It is clean and comfortable. I was impressed that the counter manager remembers our name. Reasonable price. Would go back again.

Traveler's tip on shopping

We rented a car from Dollar at the airport to the Woodbury outlet. The most amazing thing is they got a return location almost right across the street from the hotel. (2 min walk) Car rental may be a cheap alternative for getting to the hotel from airport if you are traveling in a big group that can share the rental cost.

Great location

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay in New York City and the hotel was great. We thought the location was perfect for what we wanted to do. Almost everything was within walking distance. The service was fantastic and all our question were answered with great detail. I would stay there again.

GREAT LOCATION BUT...

THE HOTEL WAS IN A GREAT LOCATION AND THE STAFF WAS VERY POLITE AND HELPFUL. THE ROOM HOWEVER WAS A LITTLE ROUGH AROUND THE EDGES (SHABBY FURNITURE, STAINED CARPET, AND THE AIR CONDITION DID NOT WORK PROPERLY...CALLED MAINTENANCE TWICE)
