The hotel staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful from check-in to our leaving. The hotel was central to our seminar and to sightseeing. Room was comfortable, clean, and large enough.

Great stay in Philly

The room was very nice. The front desk and coffee shop staff were great. Location was great. I would stay there again.

good location

the hotel is located in a good area, less than 5 minutes walking distance to restaurants. the air conditioning does not work properly. there is no fridge or microwave in the room for which you have to pay extra old hotel with small rooms no wifi in the rooms - only in the lobby not much choice for room service menu

Great, convenient Philly spot!

Mildred at the front desk was terrific, and the room was very comfortable with a terrific view of Broad Street and City Hall.

Great location

The hotel is converniently located and well-maintained. The beds were too soft for my taste, but that is my sole complaint.

Good Location

This hotel had recently been renovated and our room was excellent - clean, quiet and with a great view up Broad Street. The location is great for the theatres, the Reading market and even though it is a bit of a walk, very walkable to the historic district (we had our young kids with us too). We would stay there again.

Nice, comfortable hotel

We had to go to Philadelphia for an early morning appointment the following day, so we were only going to be there one night. Check in was very quick and the warm chocolate chip cookies were delicious! Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. There is a breakfast buffet included in the hotel rate, but we were unable to take advantage of it since our appointment was for 7, they don’t start serving until 6:30, and our appointment was a 15 minute cab ride away. One piece of literature in the room said that room service was available starting at 6 a.m., but the hangtag choice menu said the earliest delivery was at 6:30, which was confirmed by the front desk staff. That was really my only complaint, since breakfast ended up being Nutrigrain bars from the gift shop, which we purchased the evening before. If we have to go back to Philadelphia again, I would consider staying here.

Service is excellent, any request, is fulfilled immediately. The rooms are newly renovated and extremely clean. The location is within walking distanceof most attractions.

Would stay again

Excellent hotel in an excellent location. It is right in the middle of everything, across the street from the Academy of Music, a block from the Kimmel Center, 2 or 3 blocks from Macy’s with its incredible atrium, Reading Market and Rittenhouse Square. It is also about seven blocks from Independence Hall and there are plenty of restaurants in the area. Highly recommended.

would recommend

I’m very picky about where I stay and this hotel was perfect for the price! I never made it to the pool but was told I had to leave after 2 pm on checkout day so they can "refresh" the pool after my use for the next guests. I understand they can’t have people loitering after checkout (even til just 4 pm) but I don’t consider telling your guests they have to leave because an entire pool has to be rechlorinated due to their presence in it good customer service.

Walk down to third street near Arch street for the most amazing cheese shop ever. they have an ADORABLE garden in the back and the owner is very nice. Also, Horizons off of South St probably made me the best meal I’ve had all year - and it was vegan. I hate vegan. GO! You’ll love it!

Really impressed

Highly recommended. If I visit Phil next time, I will definetely stay here. Situated near good shopping malls. I didn’t expect this satisfaction because I chose this hotel for their price.

Great Room and Renovation

Newly renovated hotel with very good location (walking distance to Reading Terminal and Convention Center). Room had a great view down Broad Street of City Hall and William Penn statue. Modern, new furnishings and room was bright, very clean, and comfortable. Nice size, comfortable bed, good bathroom. Free wireless internet in lobby. Staff was very helpful and friendly (and those free chocolate chip cookies go well with the in-room Wolfgang Puck coffee). Business center could have been a bit larger, but the first 15 minutes of computer/internet use were free. All in all, this hotel was an excellent value.

Others probably already know this, but you can take the train from the Philadelphia airport to downtown for $7 per person. Stops at the Amtrak station, at 17th and JFK (near some of the businesses and hotels on the West side of downtown, and at Market East near most of the downtown hotels and the convention center. Very convenient. You buy your tickets on board the train.

Close to everything - Nice place for the price.

Hotel was Clean, staff friendly, parking reasonable for Philly. Wlaking distance to everything in Center City. I travel to Philly twice a year. I will start staying here.

Well Done

This hotel has been recently renovated and everything is brand new in the rooms. Parking is very easy too. Hotel staff was nice, and the cookies they give you when you check in are fantastic!

Traveler's tip on dining

Eat at the Chart House. It has spectacular views of the Ben Franklin Bridge and the Delaware River. Prices are reasonable too.

It is reasonable for the price - good location in down towm - a little bit noisy because of the main street. Overall acceptable.

Location is everything and DoubleTree has it. Close to resturants,shows and public transportation or within walking distance of so much. We had a blast.

We came into town for a concert and enjoyed the spillover from the Phillies winning another game after the rain stopped. Great Fans!!!

Nice Hotel in Good Location

Our stay at the Doubletree was very comfortable. Our room was clean and the beds/pillows were very comfortable. The location of the hotel is very convenient to theaters, shopping, etc. The parking is also cheaper than at comparable hotels. I would definitely stay here again.

Hot water

Our shower would fluctuate temperatures about once every minute or two to a scalding temperature. We told the front desk and they said they would send a guy from "engineering" to check it but they never did. Overall, hotel was beautiful but two fixes that we needed for the room were not attended to.

Take the Phlash trolley around. It is only $2 per ride or $5 a day and they drop off/ pick up at the top 20 tourist spots.

Great location and great hotel

Pleasantly suprised by the location. And the cookies that the Doubletree provides thier guests upon check in are out of this world. And they were so nice about giving a cookie upon request...if they had them that is. Nice place.

Check out the local plays and symphonies going on, this is a perfect location to take in an event while there.

Very helpful

The room was very clean and spacious. Tom, the Concierge, was very helpful. He helped with directions, maps and got us set for a day in Phila. His dinner recommendation was great too. The breakfast dining staff was super nice.

The hotel is in the Theater District and has great restaurants within walking distance. A 20 minute walk or short taxi ride to Museums.

Great location, but low on maintenance

The air conditioner in our room leaked and the carpet between it and the bed was soaking wet during our entire stay. The parking garage was extremely tight and nearly impossible to park our truck. The garage is also used by theater patrons and filled up every night. Valet would have been better than wasting time negotiating the tight turns and looking for the very last parking space.

As always, a great place to stay

The Doubletree is a beautiful, reasonably priced hotel, with possibly the most comfortable beds in the world! The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. Plus, you get warm chocolate chip cookies when you check-in. Doesn’t get much better than that.
