Bad House Keeping

Stayed 3 nights our room was never cleaned. Beds made 1 time after I asked Housekeepiing to please clean our room. Garbage emptied at that time only. No new towels or room supplies. Had to call the frontdesk everynight after arriving back to our room. Toliet did not flush they fixed that right away. Only got 1 set of clean towels. Had to call and ask everynight. Frontdesk was nice got things done. But not happy with housekeeping. So, all in all out of 3 nights. Room was never cleaned. When they did make the beds they took out the garbage and that was on Sunday morning and that was the only time it was done. I did advise the frontdesk as I left that I was not happy with housekeeping

Excellent Accomodations

This was our first stay at a Red Lion, we were extremely satisfied with all aspects of our stay. The people from the front desk to the cleaning staff were accommodating, cordial and helpful. Every member of the staff made us feel as if they were happy to have us stay at there hotel. Would definitely stay at this or another Red Lion on our next trip.

Red Lion Inn (Redding)

Overall the hotel was enjoyable. The location was close enough to the freeway, but far enough so you didn’t hear any traffic. The rooms were clean and the service was good. I would stay there again and I would refer the hotel to my friends

Nice hotel & good location but.......

The room was nice & while our room did not have a flat panel TV, other family members across the hall did. Bed was especially comfortable. Easy access off of I-5. Never tried the restaurant. The only issue we had was that the front desk staff would not give us an adjoining room next to the rest of our family even though we requested one when we made the initial reservation & then called a week prior to our arrival to remind them. The adjoining room next to our family was never used. We were told it was a "premium" room.

Never stay there again

first night could not sleep due to hotel music, speaker hung just below balcony. Second night hotel turned down music, but our car was parked under one of their trees and it was covered with a slime, that came from the trees. Unfortunately we had a convertable and we are still unable to get it off. We complained to hotel desk and her comment was well we dont cut down trees for you. All I asked was that a sign be placed under the tree so noone else has the same problem. The hotel claims it has the best restraunt in the area and they push discounts. We ate the first AM and wasnt at all empressed, mater of fact we were the only people there and we were totally ignored. We checked to see who was there in the evenings to take advantage of the BEST STEAKS in the world, and each time we looked there was noone there. We asked locally and we were told to go to several other places recommened and it didn’t include the hotel.

Great Hotel

This was a very nice hotel and I would recommend it to everyone!

Pretty nice

Being a late riser I was a little put out that coffee was not made available in the lobby. You had to pony up $2.00 and it was pretty darn good. other than that the staff was great, the place was clean and it was located in the heart of Salem.

WiFi Problems

Overall hotel condition was good. I could not access WiFi with either my laptop or PDA, which is unusual. I called the front desk and she said that never happens, so just keep trying. I tried to dial the 866 helpline and the room phone would not allow me to dial that.

Hotel great attached restaurant not so great

The hotel was fine. All people very friendly. The restaurant that was attached was not that good. We went for breakfast and the service was so bad we did not go back. Food was ok. But there were no salt shakers so they gave me salt in a small "side" cup with a tiny spoon. I thought all I want is salt on my eggs. It was hard to get salt spead on eggs with a spoon. The server acted like he didn’t care if he ever waited on us. We sat there for a good 10-15 minutes before anyone even acknowledged we were there. While other people who just came in were waited on. Maybe in the evening they had more qualified people scheduled, but with that experience we never went back. The restaurant directly across the street was very good. We were acknowledged and served right away. For me I was glad to see a salt shaker on the table.

I liked the hotel and the room. My advice is to dine elsewhere. Or try their restaurant in the evening and maybe they will have better service than we had.

We were treated warmly and professionally by all the staff at the Salem Redlion.

A nice enough hotel

The hotel seemed to be nicer than the other nearby hotels from the outside looking in. The room was clean and the decor was pleasant. The bed was a bit too soft for my liking and the walls seemed a bit thin making it hard to sleep in much due to doors opening and closing in the hallway as well as showers in adjacent rooms being run.

Great hotel in Salem!

This hotel is a great, pet-friendly, place to stay. Beds are wonderful and staff is very accommodating. Dining in hotel is very very good, too.

Substandard

Front Desk staff was nice and friendly. Cleaning staff left little evidence of having cleaned, towels rarely replaced and room never "tidied up". Hallways dark and noisy. Door between rooms. Noises from room above and could clearly hear neighbor opening cans over the loud room a/c. Bathroom had no vent fan.

There is better value out there

This hotel had no complimentary breakfast, no happy hour, and no real perks. It is not located within walking distance of any major attradtions, the airport, or the train station.

Clean, Comfortable, Very Accomodating Staff

We were in town for a wedding and the staff helped us rush an early check-in and gave us a later check-out. Very kind. The room was great and clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend this hotel. We used the pool and the workout facility and both were good. The best was the staff!

I always use the Red Lion Hotels

In many recent trips I have used Red Lion Hotels because they always have one where I’m going and I know what to expect. The service and rooms are great, for a good price. Every time I stay I’ve been satisfied because the room was clean and I was able to check in and out quickly.

Very nice hotel

We were in town for a horse show and this hotel was very nice. Everything was clean, comfortable & quiet. The front desk people were always very friendly and helpful when I had a question. I would stay here again.

Enjoyed the stay

There was one problem with plumbing and was promptly resolved with no inconvenience to us.
