Fantastically great stay and we cannot wait to go back!

The hotel was byond our expectations. It was thoroughly clean, well lit, pleasant and friendly atmosphere. The staff was most attentive and very courteous to all of our family. The continental breakfast was a great way to start the day (just get there early). The manager’s cocktail in the evening was great way to unwind after a day of sightseeing. The room was excellent adn was cleaned every day when we came back "home". It was spacious, had a great set-up as far as the way the rooms flowed and we really enjoyed the view from the 8th floor.

Beautiful River View

I had a fantastic time..Beautiful view, wonderful staff. Taxis can be expensive when crossing to another state like new jersey. The complementary breakfast was excellent, and there were many local restaurants, and the winter garden mall, was a nice indoor break from the weather. Walking distance to battery park, and ground zero. The area was clean, and the people made you feel welcome.

Great location, Great price

So glad to find an Embassy Suites in Manhattan! E.S. are great for their complimentary happy hour and their complimentary enormous breakfast buffet. The rooms are huge for New York standards with flat screen TVs and minibars. Such a treat to stay here. Would recommend over a boutique hotel any day of the week.

It is just ok

It was hard to get to the hotel front door maybe that area was underconstruction at that time. And the suite is not roomy as it was advertised. The frigde is so small and full of hotel stuffs that we could not take out without being charged although we did not use them.

Better luck next time

I had a rather less than satisfactory trip to the Embassy Suites in New York City. We arrived to be told that we would not be able to chack-in until 4 in the afternoon, when we were told that the check-in time was 3 in the afternoon. Getting to breakfast and the manager’s reception was another hassle. There was not enough staff for the amount of people that were visiting the hotel. We had to walk one block across a dangerous main street in the financial district. We were guaranteed a smoking room, but we were given a non-smoking room. When the front desk agent was called I was informed that there were no more smoking rooms available. When I informed her that I requested a smoking room, a smoking room was magically made available. Upon check-out, we were greeted by police and construction workers, who had informed us that all of the surrounding streets were closed due to falling glass in the area. We were not informed of this incident by the hotel. We now had 2 walk 4 blocks out of the way just to get the car that was across the street. We weren’t offered any help by any of the workers. And lastly, we had 2 walk 2 blocks with all of our belongings to the car that we had to park 2 blocks away. I don’t think I will be visiting this property ever again.

Would stay here again!

Embassy Suites was a great place to stay. The full breakfast bar was great. They made eggs to order and had a large variety of breakfast foods. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Taxi rides uptown ran around $11.00 or you could take the subway for $2.25 per person. Battery Park is adjacent to the hotel and is a lovely walk with a great view of the Hudson and Statue of Liberty. We walked to the ferry for the Statue of Liberty from the hotel. The rooms were nice sized and comfortable. We asked for extra shampoo and conditioner and the maid left it for us which was nice. We would definitely stay here again. Top notch staff and a top notch hotel!

If you plan to visit the Statue of Liberty and want to go up to the crown get your reservations done ahead of time. We got reservations 6 months before our visit and it was a wonderful experience. People thought they could buy tickets once they got to the island and found out that the crown passes were sold out. They offer a limited number of crown passes per day so get them early. The subway is pretty easy to figure out after a ride or two. Inside the subway car is a map with lights that shows you the list of stops the train makes. From the Park Place subway station (Financial district) we took the number 2 up to Times Square. No problems.

Wish we could have stayed longer

We were very impressed with the Embassy Suites Battery Park, NYC! The room was spacious - which is not always the case with hotels in and around the City. They offered a free full service breakfast everyday and happy hour every evening. You are walking distance to several trains and can get around very easily. Only drawback - and this was no fault of the hotel - was the construction activity that caused some traffic/walking issues. All told this is a great place to stay and with all the amenities a great price. We will definitely go back!!!

Value Extraordinaire

When my two friends and I were planning our reunion in NYC, we focused on hotels close to the "action" -- Broadway, Rockefeller Center, museums. But when we found that the only hotels with good reviews were too expensive for our budgets, we found an incredible deal (through Expedia.com) at the Embassy Suites, North End Ave, with views of the Hudson Rive. We were elated with our decision. Here’s why: * Staff members were attentive and welcoming. * The room was a suite, so each of us had our own bed. * We had free drinks/snacks in the evening and a free, full, delicious hotel breakfast in the morning. * We were located right by the incredible financial center buildings and the World Trade Center memorial. * We walked along the beautiful Battery Park Esplanade every morning. * Great, moderately priced restaurants surrounded us (Roc, Stage Door Deli, and great places in #4 World Financial Center). * It was bustling during the day with beautiful working people, but quiet at night. The best part is that while we were there we experienced a ticker tape parade (because of Yankees won the World Series) -- and the hotel was right down the street. I’m planning to have the ES as my "headquarters hotel" for every future visit!.

Save money and stay in the financial district. Learn to use the NYC subway instead of relying on cabs to go uptown.

Consistent Embassy Suites quality

The hotel was your usual Embassy Suites quality though the furniture was more interesting than other ones in the chain I’ve been too and the food a little better. The bell boy gave accurate advice on transportation to the airport.

Will definitely recommend this hotel!

This hotel had wonderful service and the free breakfast buffet was a great benefit! The buffet was very extensive and there was never a wait. The manager’s reception was also very nice and another great benefit of staying at this hotel. I will stay here again on my next visit and will recommend it to others a great place to stay!

Worked great for weekend with our kids

We walked to Battery Park for the Statue of Liberty cruise, to Ground Zero, Wall Street and more. Having breakfast included was a big plus. Concierge and front desk were very helpful.

Embassy - recommended - nice for families or business

The hotel is nice, clean, and big spacious rooms. Right across the street from the financial area, Ground Zero, not far from Wall Street too, where there are plenty of subway connections. Right on the Hudson looking out to NJ skyline, walking/running path is nice along the shore. A manageable walk to the Statue of Liberty dock area if you are fit, otherwise a couple bucks taxi. We used this hotel as a launching pad to the whole city, if you can use the subway it is just fine. Of course Embassy’s have the cocktails & munchies free party every night, and there is a Mexican restaurant and a nice deli below the hotel, plus eateries across the street in the big financial building. Rooms were clean, foyer is wide open, free breakfasts are great. Good for families if your kids are OK with walking (if not, don’t go to NYC) and also great for business travelers.

Traveler's tip on saving a few bucks

Buy the unlimited subway pass. Learn the maps. Eat a free hearty breakfast to start your day and return for some free Margaritas before going out again at night!

Very Pleasant Surprise

I have stayed in many Embassy Suites across the country and this is oneof the nicest. New York City is not known for its bargains, but this was a quality hotel at a good price in a nice location.

Great Value in Battery Park

Don’t get me wrong. it’s not hte Ritz. But considering the value and location, it can’t be beat. Everything was great about the hotel and they did everything we asked. Just don’t go down to breakfast too late or you’ll be in quite a line.

Traveler's tip on local attractions

If you’re visiting hte statue of liberty, go to the dock about a half hour before the gate opens. The lines are hellacious later in the morning.

Not as Good as San Diago Hotel

The location of the hotel is very nice especially if you have young children. You can see Ellis Island from across the street. Also not far from Ground Zero. I expected a little more from the breakfast selection, but breakfast was okay. Never made it to snack time closed too early. Becarefull lifting things to read off the snack bar in the room, you only have 19 sec. before being charged (you may not see the note) Other than that everything was good. My husband did not care much for the service. They pretty much charge for everything even to leave your bags behind the counter. I did not care for the picture of the half naked woman on the wall. The San Diago Hotel was much much better.

Family friendly

It was our first time staying in the downtown area of Manhattan and we were surprised at the great "neighborhood" feel in this area and the easy access to transportation. Our family of 4 (2 boys) had a great visit and loved the small parks that are near the hotel. A great place to take the kids to run off energy after a busy day of touring as along the river walks across the street. Staff was great, room with a view of the Hudson was perfect.

Great hotel and location.

Great hotel and locaiton was close to the river. The first day there we walked along the river down to the pier to go to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Beautiful walk that morning! The hotel was very nice! Our accomodations were reasonable for cost and quite comfortable. I would recommend this hotel to friends.

Good for family vacations

Hotel was just fine, good room size, good value for your money. Wish they could extend their breakfast hours, a little too early, specially when in vacation. Some rooms can be really far from elevators, if you have a disability take note on that.

The location is good if you are traveling with children. Lovely parks and playgrounds nearby. The marina across the street is beautiful and the boardwalk lovely. The area is also good for dining, lots of good restaurants nearby. Subway within walking distance and most of the nearby subway lines even have an elevator (great when traveling with strollers!!!). The location is perfect if you are looking for a quiet neighborhood, not as touristic as other areas in the city.

Great location - great hotel.

This hotel was within walking distance of the Statue of Liberty Ferry, right on the water and the battery park area had great walking paths and wonderful public art. Great for families. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Large breakfast included. All around we were extremely satisfied and would return again!

Very Comfortable/Convenient

The hotel is in a good location, not to far from the highlights of the city, yet close enough to get to the main tourist attractions in a relatively short period of time. The daily complimentary breskfast was definitely a plus, it saved on food expenses.

Traveler's tip on shopping

If you plan to shop in Chinatown, the Embassey Suites is almost in walking distance. The subway or the tour buses are great for getting around town, and the prices are resonable.
