"Too Crowded / Poor Parking / Average at Best"

This resort did not live up to our expectations. Although the bed and pillows were comfortable, the room was average. Parking was terrible. We had to park 5 buildings away from where our room was located and we would get in each night between 9:00 and 10:30 p.m. The resort itself did not have information in the room explaining the different amenities that were available nor was this explained at check in. Unfortunately I left some clothing in my room and when I called the resort the next day to see if they could ship it to me, they insisted nothing was turned in and the room was rented again. A reasonable explanation could be that housekeeping did not find the items, and they were still in the rented room. It would have been nice if “Lost and Found” would have contacted the renters and ask them to check the armoire for the articles of clothing. Instead they were somewhat rude and insisted nothing was turned in. I know for a fact the articles of clothing did not disappear into thin air.

Wrong Room

The restuarant the resort has was great food and was really the only good part about this hotel. I would say that had I gotten the right room this experience would probably had been better. However I will never know the answer to this question since I will not be going back.

HORRIFIED to walk into a room that was already OCCUPIED!

We got our room key and drove to the building our room was in. We lugged our luggage up the stairs to our room and was HORRIFIED to be walking into a room the was ALREADY OCCUPIED!!! I quickly turned around shut the door. I then lugged my luggage back down the stairs and drove back to the front desk. We told them what had happened and they assigned us another room. This room was good and we were pleased with the view. Either the people in the room next to us were EXTREMELY LOUD or the walls in this place are paper thin. Nedless to say we didn’t get much sleep. One day I heard loud voices in the hallway infront of our door. I looked through the peep hole and was HORRIFIED AGAIN to see a hotel employee with other customers trying to get into our room!!! I quickly yelled out THIS ROOM IS OCCUPIED!!! I was standing there not fully clothed and definately did not want them walking in on me. I’m not sure ow long the hotel was without their computer system, but you would think at least they could assign people the right rooms. We put the "Do not Disturb" sign on our door hoping this would not happen again. So we ended up not getting room service the whole time we were there. Another day or so into our stay we had been out all day long and all we wanted to do was get into our room and go to bed, but our room key did not work. We had to go to the front desk again and get that fixed. WHAT A PAIN! WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

Great Stay

The hotel room was clean and very nice, a bit more than I expected. I would like to go back to stay to enjoy to amenities and food services. The check-in and check-out experience was great and fast, with no hassle or long lines.

Will stay here again when in Orlando.

The accomodation was clean, comfortable and relaxing. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Orlando.

Pleasant Stay

Found everything as we expected , Maid service was more than we thought we’d get, or that it would cost extra. Staff was professional, courteous and friendly. The Internet service could be improved upon - it was too expensive in a time when many competitors offer it free. Connecting could have been easier. I realize you contract out for this - perhaps a staff member could "test fly" a system like this to see how an average person (not a young one) would react.

Hoodwinked into a time share black hole!

We will not be staying at this resort again. The room was beautiful, the security was great. There was a great little grocery store on property. The unexpected time share attack was totally inappropriate. Not a drop of hot water for a shower in the morning for four people heading to a day at Universal Studios...not a good thing.

Not recommended

For the price of the hotel and the claim that they were high end, I was surprised to see how few the amenities were and how lacking the service was. There was no coffee in the rooms (this to me seems standard), and the shower had no hot water 2 of the three nights that I stayed. Not to mention, the maid broke a very expensive bottle of perfume that I had without even leaving a note or reporting it to hotel management. She hid it!!!

Only stay here if you want the inconvenience of a time share

Our initial reaction to the place was favorable until we were taken from the check in desk by a clerk to the sales person for the time share component of the hotel. It is very clerverly disguised as being taken to an agent who will set up an park trips you may be interested in. We were not at all interested and it was difficult to simply walk away as we had no idea where our room was in this large resort and were dependent on another emplyee to take us to our room. It was like being held hostage. Upon going to our rooms we found that the front desk had given us an already occupied room, so we had to haul everthing back to the front desk to wait for another room assignment. Location to area attractions was fine. We spent the next day at Sea World. Upon coming back to our room at 7 pm we found it had never been cleaned. We had to call for housekeeping to come. I would not stay here again.

Great hotel for the price!

Fantastic room and check-in was great! Room was gorgeous, however the refrigerator was dirty, but everything else was pretty clean. Service was exceptional and my only complaint was that I had housecleaning banging on my door 2 hours before my checkout time to clean the the room. I would definitely stay here again.

Would Definitly go back!!!

The hotel was amazing! Getting back at 100 am and trying to park was the hardest part.. Everything was great! The people were friendly and always were smiling! I cant wait to come back!

I wouldn’t recommend this place

wasn’t as pleased with my Westgate experience as I had hoped to be. The staff was more concerned with selling a timeshare rather than making sure that I was satisfied. I think that would have peaked my curiosity about the timeshare had they rolled out even "a small red carpet." During my week long stay I had two days without a phone and had to use my cell phone to call housekeeping. Housekeeping never showed up to my room for a partial cleaning after I asked them personally to empty my trash and gather the towels that I left in the living area. I ended up washing my own towels and washcloths on vacation. It’s not like I didn’t express my concerns to management, I called and complained and spoke with managers and by the end of our weeklong stay we were down to using facial tissue as toilet paper and store plastic bags in the trash bins. I will never go back to Westgate...breakfast was like a market place of salespeople pushing timeshare purchase on vacationers and in my opinion they should remove the resort from their name. I returned home needing another vacation. I plan on writing a letter to corporate!!!!

Terrible experience

We went to celebrate San Valentine, that weekend was extremelly cold in Orlando, the don’t have hearing in the rooms, and they don’t had water hearing, the dryer in the building don’t work, I spend the morning trying to drye the clouse that i wash the nigth before, nobody take care, we call several times and they don’t care. We always visit Orlando at least 5 times during the year with my two kids and belive me in West Gate we live the experience that is hard to foreget. Sorry, I know that my english isn’t perfect, but I need to make sure that other people can be advised.

No Hot Water or Heat and told "nothing we can do"

It was an unusually cold day so the room was pretty cold and we immediately turned on the heat to warm things up. That night the temperature dropped and it was very cold out. The room would not warm up past 69 degrees. I was looking forward to a HOT shower to get ready since it was so cold and nothing but cold water would come out of the shower head. The tub was warmer than the shower but still only luke warm at best. When we called the front desk to complain they said that the whole hotel was experiencing it and there was nothing they could do. No room changes were available and they were not offering ANY refunds!! They simply said that they hoped it would be better tomorrow! REALLY?!? Also, the room walls are paper thin and you can hear EVERYTHING that goes on in the surrounding units. We could hear our neighbors complaining about not getting heat as well. We could also make out almost every word of their conversations if our tv wasn’t on. Anyway...we stayed one more night and the shower never got warmer but we did have a hot bath available on the second night and the room did finally warm up that night as well. I was just really disappointed with the way they handled things. When you stay at any hotel I think at minimum you should be able to expect a HOT shower and comfortable room temperature! Had they refunded me or offered me some kind of compensation, I may have given them another shot. But now DEFINITELY NOT staying there again.

Great Place...Make sure to remind them of the maid service!!

Great value. Perfect accomodation for a large family (11 in my party). We stayed in a three bedroom unit very comfortably. My only not so positive comment was about the maid service...There was none! They were suppose to make-up beds, take out trash and give us fresh towells everyday, however they skipped us though our stay of three nights. My recommendation is to make sure to call every morning to make sure they came. Otherwise, it was a nice place to stay for a couple of nights. Centrally located between Universal and Sea World.

Great for the money

Perfect location to commute to convention center, Sea World right there about a mile away and easy commute to Disney World. Many good restaurants in the area, including the one at the hotel. Very pleased with our accomodations overall!

good value for money but just ok

Hotel was fine but my key card did not work 3 diff times. I had to wait each time for Maintenance to let me in my room which is not what you want to do when you are in town for a convention and on a tight schedule. They moved me to another room on same floor after the 3rd time not being able to fix.
