As is noted in other reviews, the pictures don't do the villa justice and it is exactly as advertised. The road in and out (last few miles) is a bit difficult to traverse and renting a 4 wheel drive as suggested by the host is a very good idea. Other than that, the place is absolutely fantastic, including the location generally for touring around Sicily (in particular Palermo, Cefalu and surrounding areas). The villa is exceptional and fully stocked with everything required. Beyond that, the hosts (Paul and David) go above and beyond in every way, including facilitating everything you need for arrival, ensuring your every need is met and providing great recommendations for tour spots, wineries and restaurants (even making reservations). They are both amazing people and joined us a number of evenings for some wine around the outdoor fireplace. They also have a local chef they recommend for in-house dining - chef Bruno and his partner Giovanni and they are absolutely wonderful and the price is extremely reasonable (less than comparable meal at a restaurant) Probably the best meals we had in Italy were with them and we had them cook more than 4 evenings (would have been more but we did tour around a fair amount). Bruno also hosted a cooking class for us and it was brilliant. If you stay here having chef Bruno cook is an absolute must. Overall we can't rate the villa or Paul and David high enough. Parking was also good, but it was off season so there weren’t too many guests. The ambience around the pool was stellar with comfortable canopies beds and places to enjoy the sun. Breakfast was provided by the neighboring restaurant, and the woman who made omelettes could not have been more un-friendly! In fact, “omelette lady” has now become code between my husband and me for a person who is not nice. Our bed was too bouncy, but the room was spacious. We had a flood from the shower into the bedroom, and the staff told us not to worry about it and that it was “normal.” That struck us as strange, but we figured it was an Italian thing." The property is secure and secluded and you can really relax. The views are out of this world. The property has been sympathetically restored & is functional. The aircon is much needed & very welcomed. We were welcomed by the owner who was kind and informative. He gave us lovely olive oil. We also had fresh towels and bed linen halfway through our holiday which was good. Access in and out was secure behind an electronic gate so you fekt very safe. The location is great not far from two good supermarkets, restaurants, the beach and refuse holds all within 8 minutes. You can use the local train station Campofelice (it’s about 5 mins away & you can park for free in large carpark) to travel to Cefalù one way or Palermo the other way. The trains are clean, timely and efficient. The property is in a good location to drive inland or to Agrigento (3 hrs) for example. Go to Sperlinga and visit the castle in the rock. It is stunning, quiet and a lovely drive through Sicily. The road networks are easy. Only negatives I’d say would be there are loads of wasps around the property which is usual in Sicily. We had a lovely 10 days stay. Thank you.
