If you want to see a really cool monastery, get to the Black Sea in Turkey and along to Trabzon. Sumela monastery is a car trip out of town. You must walk the final part up to this monastery built into the cliff face in AD 386. This is one of my most favourite discoveries because it's still quite unknown. I'll post a photo of the inside next. #Trove on

I took these photos back in 2007. The memories of this fabulous monastery come flooding back. If you are into out-of-the-way places there is none better than Sumela Monastery near the Black Sea. #Trove on

This is the Sumela monastery out of Trabzon. What looks like just a facade hanging on the cliff face encloses a whole village within. The wire you see is a flying fox to get materials in and out of the steep entrance. #Trove on #Architecture #Details This is truly a hidden gem on the inside.

The colours in the frescoes were just like this! Sumela monastery will have you in awe. You need to make it a purpose to get out there from Trabzon because it's not on the way to anywhere.

A wonderful stay, a very high-end chalet, with a stunning view. In the heart of the forest, complete peace and quiet… Just remember to bring your own supplies, as there’s no market nearby, otherwise everything else is perfect!

Yemekler kötü, duş kötü

Kahvaltı çok özentisizdi yenmiyordu. Aç kalmamak için yedik. 6 kişikik yazıyor ama 2 kişi anca doyar. Patates çiğdi muhlama dedikleri şey neydi anlamadık. Yemek dışında odalar iyiydi ama duşun bir kapısı yoktu duş alamadık. Sadece gece uyumak için gidecekseniz gidilebilir.
