"Location was amazing and walkable to all restaurants, waterfront, train station tunnel, etc. Staying in this heritage hotel was such a delight and we even got to chat with the owner who was a fountain of information. "

"The staff was awesome. We had to check in very late and they were available to help. The view was incredible. Plenty of outside seating to enjoy the River. Breakfast was lovely. Area was super cute!! Will stay again!!"
"Very nice set up. Enjoyed ourselves. Very comfy beds and a lovely view from the patioTo make it a little more senior friendly it could use some grab bars in the bathrooms and some hand rails for the front steps and the stairs coming in from the side entrance."
"This is a simple option for an overnight stay. Price is reasonable, well worth it. Beds were very comfortable, although they were doubles. Clean. Fridge, microwave, tv but you need to bring your own streaming device as noted in the property's description.
Did not see an elevator so walked up to 2nd floor. Front desk was very helpful.
If there was any issue, it was that parking is not really close. Not far, but not close either.
Would definitely recommend and return if ever in the area. "
"This cottage was the best cottage I’ve ever visited! So clean, every thing was there. Love the water activities and fantastic view! Shane was so kind and responsible. We’ll sure to visit this place again soon"
"The property was small but very spacious and very nice clean room, the room was beautiful and the place was quiet and comfortable. Will definitely stay here again."
"Great house Great location! You may want to buy a leaf blower to get rid of the spiders on the outside of the house. Having traveled all over never have I seen so many spiders on the house, chairs, boats. Would have been perfect to have sat out by the water but everytime we cleaned off the chairs they were back. So that was the only down fall had a good time after our daily cleaning of the spiders "

"Très bel endroit! Pas de réception mais reçoit un code d’accès et tout c’est très bien déroulée! Chips, café et bière dans la chambre! J’ai adoré l’endroit avec de très haut plafonds, très beau!"
"We chose Heritage House for our intimate wedding, and it exceeded all expectations. The historic stone house felt warm and welcoming—full of Victorian charm, but with modern comforts like a remodeled kitchen, updated bathrooms, and a TV room with gorgeous views of the Rideau Canal. Everything was spotless when we arrived, with well-appointed bedrooms and kitchen. The listing matched reality. The house was remarkably spacious, easily accommodating our group and 50 guests for the ceremony and reception. Guests enjoyed relaxing, playing games, dancing, and soaking in the wide-open views—we never felt crowded. Outdoor spaces were a highlight: decks overlooking the canal, an intimate upstairs seating area with a gazebo and firepit, a wood-heated sauna, cold plunge bath, and a dock perfect for kayaking or enjoying the scenery. The proximity to the Clowes locks and charming Merrickville offered extra activities, quaint restaurants, and beautiful sights for everyone. We loved having the flexibility to decorate, and Jake’s communication was excellent—any questions were resolved quickly. Check-in/out and parking were simple. The setting, amenities, and Jake’s helpfulness made our weekend truly special. Our guests raved about the setting and house, calling it a hidden gem. We highly recommend Heritage House for gatherings. Thank you, Jake!"
"Cozy, clean, calm, cottage with canoes! We stayed here once two summers ago and my son asked us about it this year, prompting us to plan another getaway. We booked two nights for us and our friends with their toddler. We spent the whole time in or around the house or the beach, relaxing. Kayaking on the river and seeing the goats are highlights each time. Renfu is very hospitable, answering all our questions and keeping the grounds tidy. We cooked using the barbecue and kitchen, and enjoyed! The game room was a hangout space for my kids and as an extra nice touch the house has some other indoor activities for children which my little ones loved. We hope to come back!"
"Was amazing from start to finish, Sandy and Doug were super hosts. Breakfast was absolutely super, such a selection. Would highly recommend you stay, beautiful property you won't be disappointed. They are very knowledgeable about the area and give lots of recommendations for things to do, or just relax in their beautiful home."
"A truly authentic lakeside experience. We arrived to find everything as described and felt the weight lift from our shoulders as we soaked in the surrounding trees and calm of the lake. After a good sleep, the next day on the lake in kayaks was truly special.Making memories that last a lifetime for our children in a place like this is truly a privilege that will not soon be forgotten.Highly recommended accommodation and location!"
